That's what I'm hoping. Brogdon is a positive asset, whether it be on the court or in a trade. They've decided for the next 6-12 months it will be in the locker room and for the team.

Now we sit back and hope GS tumbles down the stretch. Then we'll be crowned summer league champs and all will be right at last.

Let's say they keep all four guards and do next to nothing this offseason.

Is that not a problem to you? I don't see them trading Sharpe, Scoot or Simons. Of course they could. But going into next season with four guards all deserving the minutes they do is a problem.

PJ is not a below average defender.

Brogdon's value will be in that he's a good player though. Some team will want him to aid their playoff push. Like how the Blazers traded for Arron Afflallo.

You think PJ Washington is an above average defender?

    He is athletic.

That was my thought. That if he traded hm for a late first, then people might be able to total up the final return for Lillard and it might not look so good....

That's how it works in an idealistic situation where all information is known. If you asked this board what direction the team is trying to go in, you would get different answers, despite the same actions being taken. People see what they want to see. Most of us think we're being realistic/fair in our interpretation, but some clearly see things through an optimistic lense, some in a highly critical/negative lense, and everything in-between.

Not as big an issue as it is for some. I don’t see this team contending next year either so it’s a problem we can deal with next year in potentially a larger trade.
But here is the thing. Scoot and Shaw are still largely unproven. They may not turn into what the franchise hopes. To trade others away is putting all your eggs in one basket wheee you can’t tell if that basket has holes and how large. I see no issue not making big moves until a foundation to build around is solidified. Shuffling deck chairs does nothing unless you know a few of them have plush cushions.

If the only options are, taking a bad deal, or no deal. I am in the no deal camp all day long.

And I do not agree the Blazers lack a direction or plan. The plan and young players are taking longer to develop than most would like. The NBA is not a video game where instant results are the norm.

So now you're preemptively getting upset about something that may or may not happen? Seems like a great use of your time.

Are any of these waived players worth putting in a claim? Hayes is a tall guard who looks to have solid court vision but is limited offensively. Are the offensive deficiencies a product of the system or the player?

Yes. He switches well onto the perimeter, gets through screens, is an okay secondary rim protector.
