I'm sorry you feel that I was snide and snarky with you. That was not my intention. I have enjoyed your posts along the years.

To the polling - this is what I had bookmarked but curiously the Taliban approval numbers were removed. This not only mentions the U.S. approval numbers, but a host of other nations/leaders. The Taliban's numbers are blatantly missing from this now. Pretty sure this has been edited.

This was at the end of 2022. I'm sure those numbers are a little more favorable now that they've had the Taliban for a little while. You can choose to believe me or not, that's fine. But deductive reasoning would say that if U.S. approval was 18%, it's likely the Taliban's was higher, at least at that point in time.

Curiously, much of the internet seems to be sanitized of any articles of Taliban support among the Afghan people. Probably to save face for our 20 year war. I did find this --

Funny, I told my wife Id like to get The Kite Runner at the library, she didn't say anything and after about 5 minutes she throws the book down in front of me.. She had just got it at the street side neighborhood library box for free book/trades. Ill start it in a week or so after I finish the Pete Rose book.

The US has carried out its first airdrop of aid for Gaza, with more than 30,000 meals parachuted in by three military planes.

The operation was carried out in conjunction with the Royal Jordanian Air Force, US Central Command said.

Officials say the drop was the first of many announced by President Joe Biden on Friday.

He promised to step up aid after at least 112 people were killed as crowds rushed a convoy on Thursday.

C-130s dropped more than 38,000 meals along the coastline of Gaza, US Central Command said in a statement.

"These airdrops are part of a sustained effort to get more aid into Gaza, including by expanding the flow of aid through land corridors and routes," it added.

Other countries including the UK, France, Egypt and Jordan have previously airdropped aid into Gaza, but this is the first by the US.

In his statement on Friday, President Biden said the US would "insist that Israel facilitate more trucks and more routes to get more and more people the help they need".

Air drops of food is a good show of humanity on Biden's part. It is simply for "Brownie" points though. A political stunt for his audience during an election year.

If Biden truly wanted to make a humanitarian gesture, putting pressure on Netanyahu to stop his war on Palestinians, mostly women and children, would go a long way to showing that he truly cares about human life. Only Biden has the power to put enough pressure on Netanyahu to stop killing women and children. Yet he doesn't care to do so. So, no "Brownie" points for you Joe...
