We gotta take a second round flyer (if he even makes it to the 2nd rd!) on this kid from Indiana St.

He’s a throwback prospect for sure

I voted for BPA unless it’s a short PG

But I’m guessing we will draft a short PG even if it’s not the BPA

Be nice if he was as big as Jokic. His vision and patience passing is something else though.

    I like this kid.
His crafty passing reminds me of Arvydas.

He has the same college level shooting prowess as Luke Babbitt. Sadly, he also has Luke's lack of athleticism.

? Will his low turn over rate, solid shooting, playmaking, and vission, be enough to overcome his lack of athleticism?

I believe his high BBIQ gives him a good chance to develop into an NBA level player. Worth taking a chance on. You can not teach his level of BBIQ.

I'm warming up to the idea of Ron Holland. Regardless, I think we'll get a good player with our pick.

I could go for all of the prospects predicted top 5. Coincidentally , the one I’m least excited about is Sarr. I just feel like he has the highest likelihood of bust and his hype is more substantiated in hypotheticals than the rest of the batch.

The guy I want us to land is Williams. Size, length, good feel for the game. I feel that at the worst he’ll be an Andrew Wiggins type, but has the ceiling of Khawi.

You're right to say Sarr has the highest bust potential but that's true with most prospects who are considered the favorite to go #1. I don't know if he'll be a star in the traditional sense, but he will transform our defense. He's a Mobley/Jackson Jr. type. I want him most.

After him though, I agree that Cody is probably the most sure thing. Would be beyond excited for either.

Babbitt was considered by many to be the best shooter in his draft class.

Believe you are correct on his combine max vert. But, I don't remember him using his vertical in any NBA games.

What I do remember was a joke we would tell about Babbitt.

? How do you know when Babbitt is on the bench during a game?

    A. It is the only time during a game when both his feet leave the ground. Heck, he hardly ever moved his feet on defense. Or, Is my old memory failing me today?

I'm fine with Cody Williams. Wishful thinking on my part wanting Grant moved.

Joe talks a lot about being opportunists. Well if other teams are not valuing top picks in this draft the way they do in others and our front office likes two guys in the upper lotto. I could definitely see us using a package of picks to move the Warriors pick up there. Let's say the Warriors pick and the second best pick of our three firsts in 2029 without any other protection to move from let's say 14 to the top 4 or something like that.

If our front office has identified for example Alex and Cody as the guys they want to fill our holes at the forward spots then why couldn't they capitalize on what is seen as a weak draft and move into position to get those two for less than it would cost in other drafts.

Is this the place to find posts about some random guys having a great March madness game and the comparisons to star NBA players are made. Where the unrealistic hype begins that the poor kid can never live up to. Or a solid kid kills it and people talk about how he's too old at 22?

I'm quite sure Scoot and Murry would look like SUPERSTARS in this NCAA tourney. It'll be interesting.

No. He reminds me more of Jabari Walker, which is not a bad thing but is not Draymond. Although I only watched the first third.

We should make a trade (Grant to Sac for Murray and Huerter, with a recent labrum injury) to exchange our current #4o for Sac’s current #49. 40 may be too high to get another steal.

Trying to remember: Who was the last real SF — prior to Grant — and in his prime — for Portland who was good at scoring and had actual positional size?
[6’5 and 6’6 don’t count in my book. And Batum coulda been a scorer but wasn’t.]
