If y'all aren't watching GCU, you need to. Their length and athleticism is legit

TCU will be my 5th wrong pick, and St Mary's will be my 6th.

I have to say, I have really enjoyed the physicality the refs have been allowing in the games I've watched. So much better than the whistle-fests NBA games often become.

I think part of nba training camp is teaching how to ‘sell’ things

I had Maryland beating Iowa State ... Led by 20 ... And lost. Iowa State freshman (freshwoman?) Audi Crooks, whom no one had heard of, scored 40 points on, get this, 90% field goal shooting.

my 'need to know' gets triggered easily, especially over morning coffee. You mentioned NBA whistle-fests and I was thinking yeah, there are a lot of FT's these days....but is it true? I'll post as I proceed:

    2023-24:
    median FTA/game 21.7....median PF's 18.9....median FTRate .246....median Pace 98.9
    2020-21: median FTA/game 21.4....median PF's 19.1....median FTRate .242....median Pace 98.8
    2017-18: median FTA/game 21.3....median PF's 19.6....median FTRate .252....median Pace 96.8
    2013-14: median FTA/game 23.3....median PF's 20.5....median FTRate .280....median Pace 93.6
    2007-08: median FTA/game 25.0....median PF's 20.8....median FTRate .304....median Pace 91.6
    2001-02: median FTA/game 23.8....median PF's 21.5....median FTRate .290....median Pace 90.3
    1992-93: median FTA/game 27.5....median PF's 23.1....median FTRate .324....median Pace 96.2
    1984-85: median FTA/game 28.9....median PF's 24.8....median FTRate .333....median Pace 101.9
    1976-77: median FTA/game 27.1....median PF's 25.4....median FTRate .298....median Pace 107.2 (Blazers Win!!)

I arbitrarily just picked seasons and added marks as I found them. Like you I would have probably thought that there are a lot of whistles these days. But it sure seems to be a case of perception not matching reality. The trend-lines are opposite of what we thought....it seems. Maybe, as we age we lose patience for whistles and watching FT routines

it occurs to me that maybe those numbers somehow need to be pace adjusted....I'll backtrack and add it to the seasons

maybe I should have looked at to leader in each category but I thought median would be more likely to filter out extremes

    sorry for the tangent

Apparently Bronagh Power-Cassidy decided that she is done with Caitlyn Clark getting all the attention in WBB.

Ben Gregg 6’10” wing for Gonzaga needs some NBA attention. Long, athletic shooter, defends well.

    Plus from Clackamas high school!

I’m in 1st place in my bracket right now, but have Gonzaga going to the elite 8. They can either make or break my bracket.

But I believe their 10th straight sweet 16 is on the verge. I have faith that Kansas shooting in the 2nd half will come down to earth like it did vs. Samford.

    Blowout city!

Can you imagine how good Chet Holmgren would be had he not gone to Gone-Zaga?

The Zags are playing extremely well. But that injured player must have been really good for Kansas for them to get a 4 seed. They looked bad.
The game was not as close as the score indicated. And it was still a 21 point victory.
