They got through. Caused a billion dollars worth of damage and didn't kill anyone. Sounds like a resounding success on their part. Israel should take note.
Israel spent a $billion defending their country. Iran spent a $billion trying to hurt Israel (missiles and drones are not free). A little girl was critically hurt, latest unconfirmed report claims she died. All Iran achieved was blowing holes in the sand, and increasing tensions and odds for a broader war.
60 mil > 1 bil NOW you're worried about kids getting hurt? Where were you when thousands of Palestinian children were (are) getting mowed down? It's different when it's Israeli children, right? They had every right to retaliate to an illegal attack. Wasn't that your response to Israel committing genocide on 35,000+?
Even as someone with a predisposition to support Israel, it's difficult to argue with this point. Or the point that Israel's 6-month (so far) response to Hamas has been ridiculously disproportionate. If they want to try to claim the moral high ground, they needed to be seeking to preserve human life, not eradicate it.
An honest comparision can make the claim Iran did more damage to their own economy, than they did to Israel's. The average monthy wage in Iran is about $230 US. Israel, about $3,100 US, more than 12 times higher. This attack cost Iran's economy more than Israel's defensive cost. That is before any additional sanctions on Iran.
There is no context that makes that equation true. I'm not disputing whatever the underlying point was, but I am curious about the context. What does the $60 mil refer to? barfo
Why are you commenting if you don't know what $60 mil refers to? Do you make posts on other things you don't know about too?
Wages have something to do with the economy but it isn't the whole picture. Saying all that, Iran's economy has been in the shitter since the Islamic revolution. Those guys don't know how to run the country and everyone knows that including their own population who has tried to get rid of them time and time again. Israel's economy is reeling. People are fleeing. Staying at the airport trying to get out before Bibi drags the country into more attacks.
Why are you so hostile? I don't see $60 mil mentioned anywhere other than in the post I quoted, although it's certainly possible I missed it. barfo
Lol I'm not. I think context matters. Obviously 60 mil is not greater than 1 bil. The post is in context to how much one country spent vs how much another country lost because of it.
I believe I saw a report that does mention this amount. This leads me to my point. Is this report true? How much being reported is true? My guess, not much. I have read and watched many reports on this attack. No two ever match. My gut says, reporters in Israel are making some information up, to grab headlines. That is before Israel and Iran announce their own propaganda version of events. Both countries have lied alot since Oct.
Iran had every right to respond to Israel's unprovoked attack on their embassy. Unless someone can provide evidence that Israel's attack was justified. I see no case for any argument to the contrary.
Irans religious nutty rulers have been supplying rockets to Hezzbola Shia buds for years and they were as responsible for the US barracks bombing in Beirut. And Iran fucked with our Embassy in Tehran a few years back. The guys taken out in Damascus were targets as they were the supply conduits and fabricators of rockets and such to Hezbola, to rain down on Israel for years. It's 100% a religious war/Jihad with the radicle Islamist rulers and they will not relent till Israel is non existent. And the last thing the religious rulers of Iran (not the Iranian people) want is any chance of the Abraham accord to happen. Whenever a people allow any kind of theocracy to rule them there will be ugly wars. The Iranian people dont want a theocratic government.
