There is a real (or is it?) Churchill quote that applies to DeSantis's decision to end his campaign: “You can depend upon the Americans to do the right thing. But only after they have exhausted every other possibility.”
DeSantis signed another law banning local communities from passing heat protection for outdoor workers. It is literally a crime on the free state of Florida to require allowing people who work outside in hot summer to have water breaks or shade.
This isn't getting enough coverage. As someone who spent years working outside in the Florida summer heat as a field biologist, I literally would have died every day without water and breaks.
No surprise. DeSantis has gone to kneel and kiss the hand of Don Snoreleone. Reportedly Trump really enjoys the humiliation of Republicans who once opposed him begging forgiveness.
