I agree with this. All 3 can get plenty of time to show how good they are.

lol...yeah, right...we need a 7th season for Simons to figure him out; maybe an 8th. After all, he's been limited to 8300 minutes in 334 games

If you go back to my original comment, you'd see it isn't about determining what type of player Ant is; I agree that we have a good idea.

We also know Sharpe nor Scoot are better players than Ant. I would like to stop the trend of downgrading the talent on this roster. Though maybe I'm in the minority and some would like to see this roster get even worse.

"downgrading the talent"? wut? When you're 28-30 in talent does it really make any difference if you get incrementally worse in talent if you incrementally upgrade fit? Nobody is saying just waive him...we're talking about Simons trades in a thread titles Simon Trades

For fucksakes this is a schizophrenic forum when talking about Ant's value and talent. You were agreeing with ST who just a few days ago said Ant didn't have equal value to Wendall Carter Jr.; Blazers would have to add value to make that trade. That was in the same thread that had discussion about Ant + something for Franz Wagner

I know you like Ant and come up with reasons to keep him. That's fine, and clearly, I don't agree. But the argument of we don't know yet what kind of player and talent Ant is doesn't pass the smell test. Ant is a player very similar to CJ and those kind of players don't significantly alter the trajectory of a team compared to any average player

I'm unsure what you're frazzled about. I said I'm perfectly open to trading Ant if we can get a good return for him. I never said people were suggesting we waive him, so I have no clue why you even brought up that scenario.

I don't believe I ever made any mention to Ant's value in comparison to Wendall Carter Jr, so if you have an issue with that, please take it up with the person who made the post. I agreed with ST that Scoot, Sharpe, and Ant can all get plenty of playing time on the same team, that's it.

I continue to believe that even if we're the least talented team in the league, the best path to becoming a contender isn't to try to increase the gap between us and the 29th most talented team. I like Sharpe, I like Scoot, and I like Ant. I don't love any of them and therefore I don't any one of them needs to go in order to make room for the other.

You finished by going back to some statement implying I feel we don't know what kind of player and talent Ant is. This is the second time you've brought this up despite the fact that not only have I not said we don't know what kind of player and talent he is, I've said the exact opposite. I'm unsure as to why you are trying to make that the takeaway, when it isn't at all what what I said and is totally unrelated to my original stance.

"I would like to stop the trend of downgrading the talent on this roster"

YOU brought up that scenario when you suggested trading Ant would be a downgrading talent. If you don't know what he'd be traded for, how can you know it would be for less talent?

I also said this before that comment... "if a great trade is available for Ant, you take it."

So if we can trade him for equal talent at the forward position or a better talent overall, I'm all for it. I do not want to downgrade in talent just to trade him and give Scoot/Sharpe all the minutes. I'm confused to why that might be a wild take.

I really have no clue how you came to the conclusion I was saying we don't know what type of player/talent Ant is.

I do like that Ant can help us have a passable offense, that helps get young players like Scoot/Sharpe/Camara/etc better in game experience. If our offense is so bad we're getting blown out by 20 every game our young players won't develop as well.

We're still likely getting a top5 pick next year regardless of keeping Ant or having an Ant trade.

Ant being sort of young is also a bonus in that in x years he still has value here or in a trade whereas Brogdon aged player that will then be around their mid 30s obviously won't have that.

Why are you saying we need more time to figure out what type of player Ant is?
