I honestly don't know if they have that in them. They have shown a remarkable ability to come from behind all season but playing against a highly talented and desperate team at home...it's gonna be an intense experience to watch, I can't fathom what it will be like to play,
While of course the Rangers can win game 7 if they lose game 6, I really feel the winner of game 6 will win the series. I think this game is hugely important, and I expect the Rangers to play well as they have after laying an egg for most of the season outside of the up and down stretch in the middle of the season.
We have to get more shots on goal and enough with the soft shots looking for deflections. Blast the shot from the blue line. No more soft shit. Blast it towards goal and maybe you get lucky and it hits off someone. Worse case you hit a Cane where there’s no padding, but these soft shots from the blue line hoping and praying for a deflection aren’t working.
Soft ass plays lead to goals against. Same shit, different day with this team. Soft on the boards, slow to react and, as usual, no one covering the front of goal. This team is a fucking DISASTER in the defensive zone in front of goal. Why exactly do we have a defensive coach if he NEVER fixes this shit. Waste of a coaching spot.
How many late period goals are they going to allow. No team does this as much they do. Pathetic. Lets just hope Carolina throws up a stinker in game 7
Follow up a no-show effort in game 5 with 3 shots in the 1st period of game 6, and a complete and total defensive breakdown on the Canes goal. In case you were wondering, after Lindgren turned the puck over, he had the boards covered very well, he was all over them. Don't worry about Necas going to the net all alone, Lindgren was covering the boards still just in case the Canes tried to pass to them. Not a lot of words to describe what is happening. If the Rangers blow this series, I'd have to think we'd be the first team ever to blow 80% + win odds 2-0 up series in back-to-back years, and then follow that up with 98%-win odds and blow a 3-0 series lead in the 3rd year. That would be very impressive. They better wake the F up ASAP, and if they fall again, I want a lot of changes this off-season, if they blow this it is clear these players are not built to win when it matters. Somebody put out an APB for Kreider, Zibanejad, Panarin, Lafreniere, and Trocheck please, I think they are missing. Maybe they were abducted after Panarin's OT goal in game 3. It could turn out that game 4 was our best shot to end the series, and since then the Canes gained confidence, and the Rangers wilted under the pressure...AGAIN. And yes, if a fully cleared and practicing Chytil cannot play tonight, not much left to do with him except move on sadly for him.
Well, we can’t play much worse. 3 shots for the period isn’t beating anyone much less this Carolina team. Gotta get shots to the net. As bad as their playing still only a 1 goal game
Agreed mel, this game is not over, but the way the Rangers have played the past 4 periods is disgraceful and weak and mirrors the NJ series last year after game 2. They need to wake up and fast, or this will be over quickly, and the Rangers will go down in history.
It’s incredible that in another elimination game against the Canes. It’s the Rangers playing timid and afraid.
