Predictably, Tarzanheimer comes swinging in on Dame's balls to his defense... Everything is everyone else's fault, obviously.

This dumb ass argument about who did who dirty is so fucking tired. Dame demanded a trade and after what our GM said and then did, that was predictable. What most of us didn't know is that Dame's personal life was collapsing at the same time.

With those two things in mind and knowing that the trade itself likely took longer than Dame expected it's not a surprise the dude came into training camp in the worst shape of his career, if that's what happened. It was definitely the most tumultuous off season of the guy's career.

I'm still a Dame fan and I hope this means that if he dedicates this off season to getting better like he has in the past that he'll have a big year with the Bucks and if Giannis is healthy, that they have a chance to get Dame his first ring.

I think it's more a matter of @RR7 hitting the nail on the head.......Doc doing Doc and blaming his players for his (and Griffin's) shitty coaching....Dame could have been All World, but that isn't enough to get past Doc's ineptitude and Milwaukee's incredibly thin bench.......

None of the additional context matters to me in terms of as a basketball fan. (As a human? Sure. But as a human it's ridiculous he makes about a thousand times the American per capita income, or about 3,000 times the global per capita income.)

He signed on the line that is dotted and he should have been ready, willing, and able to play for any team that was paying him.

If he was giving money back then it would be a different matter, but I don't think there's any indication that he did that.

I'm not trying to shit on him, but his unwillingness/lack of ability to work out in spite of being physically healthy hurt his performance, hurt his team, and opened him up (IMO) to additional injuries.

Do you know his wife asked for a divorce? I do not know so wondering if that is a fact or conjecture. Was he unable to maintain his established off-season conditioning routine because he went on a continental tour during the NBA Playoffs telling everyone that would listen that Portland had a choice to make, or was it the International tour he was on that might have affected his conditioning routine? You and I argued about him killing his trade value. Never thought he would take the summer off and not work on anything. I am sure divorce is hard, filled with uncertainty, chaos and distractions. But the one thing a player can control is what he can control, his routine. This is not a gotcha. This is a cautionary tale. I am sure Lillard wanted out of Portland as soon as his marriage crumbled, whenever that was. Flight is half of the human response. The other half being fight. He chose his response, Portland obliged, within reason. I hope the best for him and his family, but I can't help but think that Portland dodged an unfortunate bullet. Just wish they had gotten more for Holiday when they traded him to Boston. Portland got robbed.

I know you are not asking me, but possibly? Was it confirmed Lillards wife demanded a divorce? Seriously do not know the answer. If you know this as fact, ok. Don't need you searching for a link. I'm not gonna do it. Not being argumentative. I never heard this part.

I read that it was mutual but that Dame's wife was the one who wanted the marriage to end. She is demanding sole custody of the children

having gone thru a divorce myself, it's not an easy time

Accuracy isn't the issue, it's relevancy. Selective reasoning to support a position.

Gotta put Dame’s departure (and anything else Dame) behind and place hopes on the future. I get sick to my stomach (in my heart anyway) seeing Dame in a Buck’s uniform. But you know something guys, Dame still makes $50 friggin million dollars a year PLUS endorsements! I’m not going to lose anymore sleep over Dame. We now have to whip up a cake so we have something to bake!

    go Blazers!

The whole idea was not getting any sort of injury before the trade was final. Not because dame didn't want to work out. The trade issue took way longer than most expected.

this has been your bitchy little go-to jab at me for a while now. If the number of words I use bother you so much you really should be "eager" to put me on ignore. There might be a tutorial online for how to do that you could understand

I'm sure there's a good joke in there somewhere (with me probably the butt of the joke), but I paid no attention to tiktok before or after the ban so it whooshes over my blockhead
