Givony highlights some sleepers that might be available 2nd round: You can make a case for Adem Bona as the No. 1 player in this class in several categories: explosiveness, ground coverage, intensity and defensive versatility -- valuable traits that could help him carve out a role early in his career. Cam Spencer played a huge role in UConn's national championship run with his dynamic, prolific shot-making, playmaking, competitiveness and feel for the game. He's getting looks all over the second round. Cam Christie is one of the most dynamic shooters in this draft class, which is intriguing at 6-foot-6 and 18-years old. He also shows some ability initiating out of pick-and-roll, giving him significant upside he can grow into. Kevin McCullar was one of the best players in college basketball over the first 2 1/2 months of the season, but seems to have been forgotten to an extent due to his injury. He could end up being a steal for someone on draft night. Keshad Johnson brings plug-and-play, two-way versatility with his outside shooting, passing, explosiveness, and nonstop physicality and defensive intensity. Juan Nunez is one of the biggest sleepers in this class with his combination of size, ball-handling, creativity, and processing speed dissecting pick-and-roll defenses and making pinpoint passes dishing the ball all over the floor.
Given that we didn't get projects in the first round, I can see us getting projects in the second. If so, I want Juan Nunez (AKA the Spanish Topic).
Fuck it! If Filipowski's there at 34 we've got to take him and then if Bona drops to 40 we'll have to take him too. BPA all day, we can't be troubled with having a balanced roster.
In the 2nd round, I'm hoping the Blazers grab a couple of these guys: - K Filipowski - H Ingram - T Smith The 2024-25 roster is shaping up to be quite fun - The Blazers currently have a full roster. Will the Blazers put the new 2nd round guys on 2-way contracts, or are more consolidation trades coming?
We got under the tax so maybe no more moves. I could see the Blazers waiving two of the two ways to make room for our second rounders.
Latest projections round 2. 34BlazersNikola DurišićSG – Mega Mozzart (Serbia) – HT: 6-7 – WT: 209 – WING: 6-8 – Int.04– A big, strong guard who is a high level scorer and play-maker on the wing. Will need to shoot the ball better but shows promise. Had a really nice showing at the draft combine. 40BlazersEnrique FreemanPF – Akron – HT: 6-8 – WT: 206 – WING: 7-2 – Sr – A powerful and versatile forward with great length who plays with a ton of energy. Has made a big move up draft boards with a strong draft season.
Flip sure does have a punchable face. He seems like he would annoy other teams so I wouldn’t mind drafting him. A Cling Kong/Flip/Deni lineup might be fun one day.
There's definitely going to be someone interesting available with our picks. I agree that Smith works be a good upside pick. I'm shocked Furphy has dropped this far. Klintman is still a mystery, and Freeman is intriguing. All in all, I want athleticism and upside.
Great graphic and presentation. If we could flip any of our second round picks for a future second I'd do that but it's such a weak draft there probably aren't any offers. Maybe we will cut the guy who shot a career high 29% 3pt last year in Jabari Walker? Though we really don't need to worry about roster spots until October. If we do a Grant trade it may have us take on another player, or if we send out Thybulle to another teams MLE might save us a spot.
Still available that I'd have some interest in: Klintman Bona Smith Mogbo Chomche Ingram Djurisic Bridges Freeman I would be happy with any of those with either of our picks if we keep them.
