It's a bit outrageous seeing as we got him for only a late first.

Sure, but the window to try to get one more with LeBron is just about shut.

Oh, I absolutely think Grant is on their preferred list of targets, but I don't think three first rounders + Rui are on the table. I'm sure there are many knowledgeable NBA fans that might even prefer Rui (on his contract) vs. Grant (on his) point blank. If the Lakers happened to offer Rui+filler and the '29 pick, it wouldn't shock if the Blazers went ahead and accepted that deal immediately.

Yep, they will finish closing that window, trying to get another trophy, which won't happen, Lebron will retire, and they will lure another star player to take over.

Not that I think they will trade us all those picks. They will trade us a 2029 and Knecht maybe.

If this flip to the next star is so easy for the Lakers - why did they have 6 years of losing seasons between Kobe and LeBron?

I would be shocked if Timelord is traded this summer... makes much more sense for the Blazers asset return and team being willing to send value out to first see him play some healthy games with the Blazers.

Just saw GSW have all of their picks, except 2030 goes to WSH if its 20-30. They could trade the 1-19 component of it which is 98% of that value anyways.

So that is effectively basically all of their picks eligible to be traded. They have CP3 contract that needs to be traded in a few days or cut. They are rumored to be chasing Paul George.

Could they also be a Grant destination?

What about Simons - maybe in a 3 way deal? Could the Clippers or another team want him?

I'd love to get some of those GSW picks unprotected especially in a few years when Steph is older.

interesting stuff from the Mav's via this video :

Dal and Grant part starts around the 1:45 mark and ends about 6:15 mark but i will sum it up for those who do not want to view the vid -- one more thing is this info was day of draft and of course this in X ( twitter ) stuff so take it as for what it is

-- Mavs made an offer but the Blazers were not happy with it
-- Nico Harrison think Grant is the missing piece for the Mavs

I mean, great that they want Grant, but what do they have to give that's worth taking for him? They're already a 2nd-apron team in 24-25, so they can't even aggregate salaries. Maybe today they could match with Kleber/TH3, but who wants that?

Well, I guess you could have that added to the trade as well, but it doesn't sound appealing to me.

One thing I did not mention is Hardaway prolly would not be coming to Portland ( if a Mavs deal ) and after the Grant part there was a rumor of Hardaway to Det for Grimes at least that was a rumor again take that for what it's worth.

Gotta unload Simons and Grant. I just don’t know if it will go down.

I think we gotta get what we can for RWIII. Can't risk playing him next year. If he gets hurt again, we're sunk.

Not so sure about that. If you play him to prove he is healthy, it’s increasingly likely that he will show his true colors and get injured once again.

Take what you can while you can
