From the small sample size I've seen of him since we traded for him I think he's going to actually move a needle for this roster. Really looks like a steal to me for what he brings as a 23 year old....best wing since Batum we've had. We had a great draft day one. Got younger and bigger.
I think something people aren't mentioning is that this is also helping get rid of the backcourt logjam? Opening time up for our young guys. Love Brogdon, always have, but it's timetable thing. If you are bummed about those 2nd round picks, I don't know what to tell you sir.
'Tisse is one of the best defenders in the NBA, I have NO problem with doing what we needed to keep him.
I've said before......trust me when I tell you that the mass majority of local "Media" covering the team, doesn't know any more than members on this forum....I PROMISE you.
It depends. We won't really know till we see who that 2029 pick is/becomes. We could have just traded away a star for a role player. So far, it looks like we win it. I don't think we are going to be looking back at this draft and thinking we could have had Bub Carrington.
There are plusses and minuses to the backcourt logjam that was such a false narrative last year and remained to be seen this year. I also think the timetable thing is overdone. I'm disappointed about giving away picks in general if it wasn't necessary. I've addressed that freeing us from the salary woes might/probably made that necessary. Now, if you want to be snarky about that last part, keep in mind that my background in basketball is more as a coach and scout who went into journalism. I didn't have the divine knowledge that some people gather from working behind the cameras on broadcasts I guess. I don't know what to tell you.
I don't know much about Avdija other than the videos posted here. That said, I really like his shooting form. I love the arc he puts on his shots from deep. He could be a rotation player for us.
I don't share what I hear or see on here and never had obviously.....this year I did share what some scouts around the league that I know very well told me about the talent pool of this years draft though......and got killed for it by a few on here....claiming that didn't mean anything. Any knowledge I obtain doesn't come from me in the studio covering the games....it comes from 20 seasons of flying around the country with players/coaches and GMs. Sitting in hotel lobbies at 2am on roadtrips, or team dinners or riding on the bus or an elevator talking the game. But like I said, I've never shared "inside info". Should have heard the details and words I heard sitting in the hotel restaurant right next to Andre Miller and his agent in NJ one morning.....but then again, what do I know right? Because I'm an obnoxious prick on here to a bunch of dorks, there's NO way I know anything about basketball right?
Yeah. Absolute worst case. Seriously. He'll probably be worth a lot more by then. You weren't going to get guy a that good at 14 (or 7, probably). Brogdon was duplication. And Boston is probably going to be competing for championships in 2029... So we basically traded a salary and 4 2nd round picks for this guy that we KNOW is a good player at a position of need. Good trade.
He shoots 48% from the corner 3. That's a dream for a PG like Scoot. Honestly, it should even help Ant.
100%. And he just seems like the kind of guy you want to have around a young group. I'd absolutely keep him for the long haul.
