Almost every left wing and democratic pundit out there is saying the debate was a disaster for Biden. This might be the first time in years that the left and right were at some an agreement on anything.

His answer to everything was I had the best numbers ever. I was the best president ever. Joe is evil. Blah blah blah.

Yeah, it was a shit show, but eventually the left will say fuck it, he's old, and vote for him. Better than voting for Trump. It's momentary panic.

Joe could decide to step aside, but I doubt it.

Sorry, it doesn't work that way. You made the claim, you prove it.

It does work that way though, this isn’t a school essay. If you want to know something, go find it. If you want to prove it wrong, YOU prove it wrong. You aren’t the teacher grading papers. It always amazes me when people on here demand you go dig up sources and lay them at their feet while their only contribution to the argument is to lazily sit there and say “nuh uh”

All misleading and misrepresented metrics. Newsom is such a greasy snake.
What is “unfounded” about the panic people are feeling? Seems very founded to me when their candidate can’t form sentences. Let the gaslighting begin.

I don’t think there’s ever been a better argument for the end of the dominant two party system in American politics than the hot mess we saw tonight. Total failure by both parties to provide a candidate who is fit for a four year stint as president. I hope Joe will decide to step aside. If not, it looks to me like the most probable outcome is a second Trump term. Our system of government barely survived the first one. I dread the prospect of a second.

It always amazes me that a guy who never ever backs up his statements with anything at all thinks the lazy argument is the one made by people asking for evidence.

Personally, I'd rather Trump step aside.

Newsom makes great points. Too bad Biden couldn’t make them in the debate. Pretending that Joe’s suddenly going to improve his performance going forward is just whistling past the graveyard.

I’d prefer he step in front of a bus, but I don’t think we’ll be so lucky.

If either party changed candidates it would be an easy win.

So what’s next? Is a current president always the next candidate automatically? The democrats need a different option after what I saw tonight.

Yeah, the first term incumbent is always the next candidate. We will see.

    Ouch.
Wouldn’t somebody come out and say they have a better chance winning with Kamala as an option?

I don't know that's true. Kamala is not a popular vice president.
