GSW probably trying to trade for Paul George or someone.

Seems more than we got for Nance...

    EDIT: maybe not:

    What are the Pelicans thinking?

Daniels too. Salary didn't make sense without him.

That's not really a great return for Dejounte but I guess they had no choice.

They're thinking they get an all defensive team PG who has a ton of length. I don't know what they're doing with CJ but if they're keeping him you couldn't ask for a better guy to pair with him in the back court. I know the rumor is that they'll move Ingram but they just added another near all star caliber player to put around Zion.

    Nance
    Daniels
    2025 Lakers 1st
    2027 lesser of MIL/NOP

    vs

    Brogdon
    2024 14th Pick
    2029 Pick
    2 Seconds

I think you can argue Avdija went for more than Murray. Which I actually agree with.

Depends if you think Daniels will improve. He's already pretty elite defensively.

The trade packages are very comparable... and close in value. If I were the Wizards or the Hawks, I would prefer the NOP package due to Daniels.

As far as players, go - I'd MUCH rather have Avdija for the Blazers over Murray.

I like Murray a lot too. But they’re paying CJ a ton of money at the same position

Yeah. It's arguable though. Atlanta also ducked the tax with this deal. -9M. Blazers went -6M in their deal.

Funny how money motivates deals like this. Cheap owners.

Shocked Murray didn't go for more - he's a stud. Id be furious if I was a Hawks fan, they traded the wrong PG.

Great acquisition for New Orleans. They have all those young wings too in Jones, Murphy, etc. wouldn't be surprised at all if they make a Wolves/Thunder leap this season.

Am I crazy for thinking this is a worst trade than what Washington got for Avdija?

Hard to see how Ant goes for 2 firsts based on this Dejounte deal.

Depends on Dyson, as good as he is on defense, he is almost as bad in offense. If he gets better, probably better than what Washington got, if not, about the same, maybe a bit in Washington's favor

Very true, but it also means that there is one less option in the combo guard market (and NOP didn't really seem like an Ant option anyway). Darius Garland, you're next!

I think this is a solid deal for both teams and I will tell you why but it kind of hinges on one thing -- Lakers pick next year

The Lakers pick could be anywhere from a just missed play in ( 13-14 to 20 to 25 ish ) so I do not mind this deal at all for the Hawks or Pelicans

My grade for this deal is : Pels -- B plus ---- Hawks -- B+ to B minus -- hinges on Laker pick and dev of Daniels
