How many trades will the Blazer make on or before Draft night(s)?

This is probably asking for too much, right?

I think any trade with the Lakers has to have us getting at least Vanderbilt back. I just realized he’s only 25. I thought Rui was a bit younger but he’s 26.

I don't see the point of Vanderbilt right now. He seems a bit redundant with Toumani/Thybulle already here.

I don't see the value of adding conplementary one dimensional role players to a team trying to tank for stars. Perhaps when we trying to build around Dame, he made sense.

Now, he would just take away key PT from Deni/Tou while hurting our tanking.

Also, Lakers are introducing Dalton and Bronny right now.

It seems to me, based on what we have been reading, that the Blazers want two firsts for Grant. The Lakers don’t want to give up the 2031 pick. They probably also don’t want to give up Knecht. So I’m guessing the plan is to do something like I posted above. Their 29 pick and then another first from a team that will take DLO.

I think that trade gets us the value that we should get for Jerami and that's what matters to me. I do not think that the Magic have the cap room to just absorb Russell's contract after the 20-22M that they likely owe KCP in the first year of his deal. So we'll likely have to take back some salary filler to make it work.

Is free agency done? I haven’t heard anything new.

How about Ayton for picks, Zach Collins, Keldon Johnson? Main prize would be picks but Zach could help Clingan his first year or two at center.

    Spurs get Garland
    Cavs get Ingram picks
    Pelicans get Ayton?

That's not bad. I mean, I'd probably rather have more future picks rather than Keldon, but still...

As I go to fanspo to visualize it, I say to myself--how crazy is it that the Spurs have 34 picks over the next 7 years?!

It seems like a lot of the big dominoes have fallen but it's far from over DeRozan and Hield are maybe the two biggest impact free agents outside of LeBron that are left but there are dozens of rotation players still available in free agency right now. Far more roster spots that have to be filled. I guess a number that might be informative is that only 44 free agents have signed so far and last season 117 free agents were signed to roster spots not just exhibit 10 deals between the start of free agency and the beginning of the regular season.

With the way teams are reacting to these apron rules, I really don't see them readily giving up picks unless they have a bunch already in reserve (like we did for Deni), or if they are going for it with final piece moves.

Does LA feel like that's what Grant is?

Getting Dalton was a longshot to begin with and while disappointed that prolly takes him out of any Laker deal not as big to me after getting Deni even though he might be more of a PF with limited SF minutes.

LeBron is gonna be 40. Who else is out there and how much time do they have? They’re not getting Markkanan for 2 firsts. So it comes down to whether LA gives a shit about trying one last time with LeBron or if they just let him age out like they did with Kobe.

Laker fans are saying they should save their picks for a bigger needle mover. But they only have two picks. They don’t have the resources for someone like Markkanen.

Intros don’t mean anything. The only thing that matters is the contract. Once they sign they can’t be traded for a month.

Same. It’s slim Pickens looking at their roster and seeing who we would get back. I would want both their picks and Vanderbilt and whoever else needed

So sending out Grant and Simons? I don't think we can get all of that for Grant...
