It's interesting that if you google "Russia losses" or "Ukraine Losses" 9 out of 10 articles are about how Russia is taking heavy casualties. If you were to go by mainstream American news, you might think Ukraine is winning this conflict. (which is the impression many of you seem to have). Just please take it as a learning opportunity when you find out you've been deceived, and start questioning your sources of information.
But some of us are capable of original thought. For some reason, it just so happens to be those who don't buy the bullshit.
Ukraine is swiftly recapturing lost land. Not only have the attacks taken back larger areas of land. This is happening in several different areas. I would not call these gains a major breakthrough. But these are the best results in the past year. Guess giving Ukraine ammo and weapons helps.
No "absolute" immunity has been granted. The Supreme Court ruling was crystal clear about that, but all you do is read the reactionary hyperbole of the trash media you consume. Also, no president has ever been charged with a crime in the history of the US. Do you believe none of them ever committed any crimes? Bush had people tortured, Obama murdered a US citizen with a drone strike, but they were both granted immunity. So this isn't new. And you want Trump to go to jail for these non-crimes. TDS.
To add balance to my reports, not everything is going in Ukraines favor. Ukraine is having problems controlling their airspace. From Russian drone videos and satellite photos. It is clear at least two Ukraine airfields have recently been hit by Russian missiles. I believe one of the airfields has been hit at least 3 different times. The first time, there were many military aircraft there. Ukraine lost 1 SU27 fighter jet. Later attacks appear to have hit an empty airfield with no damage. Another airfield was hit. Ukraine lost a combat helicopter. A structure was also hit, but it is unclear what was inside. Two points. Russia is preparing for the arrival of the F16s. And Ukraine still does not have enough air defense systems to protect their high value targets.
Russia is fighting a war of attrition. They outnumber and outgun the Ukrainians, and the Ukrainians are losing people at a higher ratio. It's only a matter of time.
Russia would need 20 soldiers per 1 Ukraine civilian to win the war and hold Ukraine. Russia doesn't have that.
Russia's population is 3.8x that of Ukraine. Lets round up to 4 times larger to keep this simple. In a war of attrition. To stay even. For every Ukraine casualty, Russia would need to take 4 casualties. Is this happening? No, according to many experts, Russia is suffering 6 casualties for every Ukraine casualty Russia is losing the war of attrition. Which explains why Russia is hiring so many foreign fighters, from so many countries. While Ukraine is beating Russia with only their own army, and a handful of foreign volunteers
Generally when military analysts compare the capacity of nations, they cross compare the number of soldiers or military aged men between nations. Not the population as a whole vs the other's standing army. I guess this the new "Phatguysrule" method though. So 1 soldier and 100 babies > 5 soldiers because they outnumber them 20 to 1.
Both sides are giving different ratios. But Ukraine is the one sending old men and women into combat. Ukraine is the one that is failing to make any dent in the line Russia has made. Ukraine is the one desparately pleading for more and more assistance...
