Not sure how accurate this report is? But, the info does fit with other sources, just the numbers of Ukraine aircraft lost is larger. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2024/07/04/ukraine-f16-fighter-jets-airbases-missile-drone-attacks/
We'll see in time. But don't you recall how the western media was saying Ukraine was kicking Russia's ass etc. They were even publishing known BS about the "ghost of kyiv". Zelensky is the one making desperate pleas. Prolonging the war is just creating more senseless bloodshed.
If Russia invaded the US we wouldn't have to be "sending old men and women into combat" they would proudly and immediately start fighting on their own. I'd guess that there are lots of Ukrainians that feel the same. Also Russia has been pleading for more and more assistance from China, North Korea, and Iran.
Maybe you haven't seen the videos of Ukranians being kidnapped in the street and force to go to the frontlines where they have a life expectancy of 4 hours.
I would have no problem kidnapping your family and forcing them to fight. Here is a great example, you would be Scott Tenorman.
Female saboteurs who poisoned 46 Russian soldiers in Crimea are on the run after shoot-out with police, reports say And that's just one story... When you are trying to occupy a defiant country you aren't just fighting soldiers or military aged men. You are fighting everyone in that country.
Overall population size would be more relevant if they were trying to occupy the whole country, but they're only occupying the region which was involved in a civil war against Ukraine anyway.
Biden administration picked this fight with Russia. Partly due to his base doing the Russia, Russia, Russia thing. How do you expect Russia to look at this? Partly due to talking NATO membership for Ukraine. How do you expect Russia to like NATO and missiles on its border? Partly due to saying things like. "I'll stand toe to toe with Putin" - them's fighting words. Partly due to saying things like, "There will be no US troops/boots on the ground." Precedent is "nothing is off the table" and troops on the ground in West Berlin and West Germany to deter aggression. It's not our blood being spilled. It's the good people of Ukraine and Russia who are dying and being wounded. Why on earth would anyone support picking a fight with a nuclear power? Diplomacy means talking to your enemies to make peace. It doesn't mean making war or using proxies to make war around the world. Obama and Biden administrations have left cities and countries in rubble. It's something that cannot be justified. I'm voting for RFK Jr. this time around. I don't think he's interested in making war.
The only country who picked a fight with Ukraine were the people who invaded Ukraine. Simple as that. Ukraine has every right to defend themselves from invasion and the right thing to do is to support them in their self defense. Saying stuff doesn't give anybody the right to harm others.
The president's words and actions and the USA's and allies' actions matter. No matter how you want to spin it, war is a failure of diplomacy.
It’s as consequential as a basketball game to most people here. They just want to be analysts and cheer on a side. They know they personally wont be inconvenienced so who gives a shit if a million people die over there. It’s all points and scores; and when the media scraps the narrative, so will they.
Sorry, but only in a fantasy world is "diplomacy" and "Putin" NOT an oxymoron. Diplomacy for Putin is "Bend over and take it because it's coming anyway". Any defense of Putin and his actions is utterly unconscionable. But Biden a bad, bad man. Only in the fucking MAGA universe.......
