Once again. Ant has been here long enough that we know he's not the answer for us at the 1 because he can't guard point guards. We know he can't guard any other position either.

He's not the answer. His value will start dropping the longer we keep him. I'm simply advocating that we get max value.

Scoot has time and plenty of potential to make a huge leap.

I'm not comparing these players with one another. They are in different situations. Ant can help a contender. Scoot has room to run.

Once again, you got caught with your foot in your mouth.

Scoot hasn’t show any of that either.

“Ant is not the answer” is your answer, thank god you aren’t the GM.

You going to keep crying if Ant is on our team all of next season too lol.

Lol, this is hilarious, you basically said nothing but hot air after it showed your stats are flawed.

Keep adding any context you want, you and the little crew of Ant bashers, yet don’t want to say anything about the stats showing Scoot is on the same level

Others have said Scoot is a good defender in here

I didn't say anything...I typed it. I guess maybe I was breathing toward my keyboard at the time so some warm air could have landed

by the way, just because you keep saying stats are flawed doesn't mean they are flawed, and it sure as fuck doesn't mean they don't confirm what we see

Lol. It was just a point in general.

I’m just having fun with this, don’t take me serious.

but I do believe you guys are too bias and lots of points of you guys don’t make sense to me, and I’m sure you guys feel the other way with my points.

But you guys just repeat the same thing over and over so I had to chime in.

@sheed30 your point has been made and noted. That point being that you're a big fan of Ant, to the point of being unreasonable. It's cool I'm probably that way about Dame to this day and Clyde in my youth. That being said those two are going to the HOF and while I assume you think it's too early to call with Ant, most of us would put big money on Mr. Simons missing out on an induction.

Most rookies have those problems. Even most rookies who become stars.

Nah I’m ok with trading Ant but not for what is suggested here and I don’t want to trade him and take a step back just to give Scoot the keys to the PG when we have no clue what pick we will get down the road for draft capital and even if the said draft pick will pan out. Too risky when we already have high draft picks the last 3 years.

I think what we disagree on is the value of Ant in a trade and that some say he is overpaid when he clearly isn’t when you look at the other salaries across the league now.

Ok I can agree with that. We all don’t know if he will ever become a star.

He could be a Dennis Smith Jr for all we know, or a Westbrooke type down the road. But first, let’s actually do something and make the team better we don’t need more future draft picks man, we have enough already from the last 3 years time for these guys to develop and we need to improve each year like OKC has done the past few years.

keep sucking for more years and Sharpe might not want to stay here, ever thought it that too?

My answer is that Ant can't effectively defend any position in the NBA. After the better part of a decade. I don't want any players like that on the team long term, and I certainly don't want them being a core part of the team.

I believe Ant has value by being in a tough situation and some GMs may think there is some untapped potential there. I think there will be fewer of those by the all star break, and even fewer the season after that.

Scoot isn't a consideration. I didn't want to rely on Ant before we drafted Scoot. Not because I have a personal problem with him, but because he's not an effective player on both ends of the court, and he's not good enough on the offensive end to make up for his defensive flaws.

I'm not sure why you're taking this so personal. Maybe you're Ant's girlfriend? Uncle?

We don't have enough talent to stop needing more draft picks. We're more than likely going to need 5 or 6 top half lotto picks to get enough talent. And probably some shrewd moves.

We can thank Olshey for that.

This is why I wanted keep Dame as long as possible. I don't like this process. And now I want to make sure we don't have to do it again for a LONG time.

2024 defensive ratings for the season has CJ ranked better than Lebron, Doncic, Gordon, Murray, Booker and a bunch of others. Not sure I buy it.....

How can Ant help a contender if he’s as bad as you say?

Compare Dame at 24 to Ant at 24. Ant's offensive numbers are actually slightly better, and that's with playing for a worse team.

Scoring numbers tend to go up on worse teams.

watch the good things opposing broadcasters say about Simons. Portland will be getting slaughtered like normal, then Anfernee will have a turbo charged scoring outburst. Turning a would be blowout into a competitive score within a few minutes.

There are teams that need a bucket machine, *including this Blazers team.

I'll go old school for a second. Anyone remember Michael Adams? There was a mediocre Nuggets team with a "who's this guy?" name on the roster lighting up the boxscore. Keeping pace with the big time All-Stars George Gervin, Moses Malone, Dr. J etc etc.

When we finally saw Adams during a Blazer game, here's this 5'11" guard in Denver who could shoot the ball from anywhere on the court. Monster stats from a small package.

I say we keep Simons and let him run. There's only upside with Anfernee. He's either going to erupt as a top 10 scorer, or he'll be meh and quit his season early. Both avenues lead to a big fat lottery ball, which is the glue Cronin is using to fix the Blazers.

but.. but.. Anfernee said he's ready to win, and Chauncey said he wants to win.
Ummm, these guys are pros. They're not going to shred their bosses Jody & Cronin in front of pencil pushing media reporters hoping to write dramatic stories.

I'm looking at efficiency. Efficiency would tend to go up on a good team because there is less pressure on the individual scorer. And Ant's > Damain's.
