Talk about terrible timing the dude just declared the Wizards paint a no fly zone. He also hasn't let a lot of guys get by him when defending the perimeter. The dude's defense is already ridiculous and his offense looks like it has a lot of upside. Really nice feel for offense on and off the ball so far in this game.

Reed Sheppard looks legit, even though he looks like a twelve-year-old with short arms. Very good handle, good hands on D (got 3 blocks!) and great shooting. Shame the guy in his spot earns $40M a year.

Sarr's offense hasn't kicked in yet, but he moves like a wing and blocks everything.

Pacers better find minutes for Jarace Walker this year. Either that or he's a valuable trade piece.

Knecht actually looked pretty good. He'll get blown by a bit but his team defense isn't bad and he'll get steals, and his shooting is as advertised.

(I'm still very happy we ended up with Clingan and Avdija, but credit where credit is due.)

Bronny is nothing special - but he's still better than Johnny Davis.

    Bronny 0/8 from 3?

This guy is going to have a lot of work to do in order to be a relevant player.

Damn that sucks for him. I was thinking it was an ACL and wondering if the Blazers should explore trading for him. But achilles is basically the worst injury you can have and I wouldn't want him on the roster.

Denver might be seeing their window closing?

Lost Bruce Brown and KCP with basically 0 additions. Murray and MPJ always have big injury risk. None of the picks or youth they added look promising in a major role. Have these teams all passed them?

Many Faker Fans will be quick to point out that Kobe sucked early as well. He didn't have the luxury of a summer league to work out the kinks though. I said "kinks." Is that word offensive to anyone here?

Also, the best player in the league had to play near-perfect basketball by his lofty standards in order for their window to open in the first place. That's a tough formula to replicate.

Losing Bruce Brown felt like a huge blow at the time. Paying Porter what they did felt like an equally big blow. That championship was built on luck more than skillful planning.

It's a funny year because Reed Sheppard would normally be a favorite, but the Rockets have an iron-man $40M starter in his position. Edey would obviously put up numbers if he got the minutes (y'know, just like Boban) but with Ja Morant coming back, presumably the team will be trying to win. If Edey still gets minutes in that scenario, then he will be a deserving winner. But this is going to be one of those wide-open years.

Quick quiz (without looking it up): who was the last rookie-of-the-year on a Blazers roster? It's going to be like the year he won.
