Canada and France are full of NBA players as well. I have no doubt that either of those teams is capable of beating the US on any given day.

The Dream Team was a generational collection of talent, so any other dominant showing would be a fractional representation of what they were able to do at their best.

? They were the best US players in the NBA at the time (plus Christian Laettner). How is that different from this year's edition, other than the gauzy glow of nostalgia? Oh yeah, the world caught up, that's how.

You know what would be the most talented imaginable non-US team (at least on offense)? A "former Yugoslavia" team. It would be pretty big-man-heavy, though. You could have a starting five of Doncic, Jokic, Zubac, Nurk, Saric. Just pack the paint and hope the other team bricks it!

You'd also have a couple Bogdanovic's, a couple more Nikola's (Jovic and Topic), Pokusevski, the lesser Dragic, and Boban could be a mascot. It would definitely be fun to watch.

Who'd be the fifth starter on an All-Europe team:

    Wemby
    Jokic
    Giannis
    Doncic
    ?

Schroeder? Or maybe Dort would make more sense.

Definitely Schröder. He plays out of his mind for Germany. Dort may speak French but he's from the wrong continent.

Funny how Spain has suddenly dried up as a talent pipeline after their "Golden Generation"

Huh--dunno why I thought he was German.

Could also see someone try to shoehorn Franz into that spot, but yeah, Schröder's speed and ball-handling would be valuable.

Forgot Markkanen! He's definitely a contender, although hard to shoehorn him into that starting lineup.

Just when I thought maybe your questionable takes are serious...

The Dream Team represented a significant portion of the best-ever players at each position, most of them still playing at peak levels. This year's team is lead by guys like LeBron/Durant/Curry who are well into the downside of their career (like Bird and Mullin, who weren't asked to do much). Aside from Embiid/Davis matching up well against Ewing and co. inside, the rest of the current team is made up of guys with little chance of making the Dream Team cut.

I don’t normally meet up with fans for autograph appearances, but maybe we can set something up if my work schedule is open. We get to Paris Aug 4th evening to finish out the games. I’m working like 10-12 hours each day, but hey that would be cool.

Always wanted to ask….in the throes of passion, do you ever scream out, “Give it to me SwissMiss!” when hooking up with the ladies?
