I saw Terry at Summer league and he was absolutely jubilant. Think he is liking his new gig.

I read a few Mariners fan comments. While some are in #FireStotts mode, a few grumblings take a softer approach. They're pointing fingers at hitting coach Jarrett DeHart.

Baseball is more compartmentalized then basketball. Swapping out assistant coaches can make a difference.

But for some reason (nepotism perhaps?) the Mariners are sticking with a batting coach who was an OK hitter for about 4 different college teams, but he never stepped foot on pro level grass. Until of course the Mariners hired him to coach.

Got a 34 year old reliever. Clase to the blue Jays

My takeaway: we aren't getting Vladdy. So this has been a bad trade deadline.

got a top 30 Mets prospect. That's a great deal for the magic mullet reliever who couldn't throw strikes.

Mariners tattooed an 8 piece on CWS starter Drew Thorpe.

M's so far have done pretty good and still have like 3 or 4 days to get more done so anyone crapping the deadline before it's over knows jack -- facts

Also for people saying they should have gotten so and so you do realize the guys they were linked too ex. Pete A from the Mets is off the market since the Mets started to win and now in the hunt for a wild cat spot or other things like keeping fans interested in buying Tix instead of trading away your star -- see Jays and Vlad Jr. I fully admit I am more a NBA fan but common sense and such should tell you what i just laid out and again if not well that is on you - that is a fact

    Arozerena doesn't solve the problem.

    Arozerena and vladdy do.

It's a failed trade deadline if they don't get more hitters, period. Thar is not up for discussion.

Common sense, which is where I'm coming from, is this is a C+ at best so far.

Alonzo sucks. He would have been a downgrade.

There's more to get. If this is where it ends it's an abject failure, and again, there's no discussion because that is the only correct answer.

Two blue Jays don't make a Vladdy.

I think the Red Sox plinked the Green Monster 6 times. They should build a Seafoam Blue Monster in Seattle.

Disappointing trade deadline has come and gone. Ownership simply doesn't care about winning. Seriously, they are gunning for 54% and asses in seats. thats it.

I'll give them some grace because it was obvious they were trying for vlad by extensive talks with the blue Jay's.

But they have to accept the offer, too. I wanted vlad bad but that asking price was probably steep af.

You also have to remember that JP and Julio are coming back.

We actually have a decent lineup. Not GREAT, but decent. And honestly, like in basketball, if you have one amazing thing (offense for basketball, pitching for baseball) you just need a league average offense.

    There is some hope.
