I’ve been wondering. After trump is done with trying to be president or whenever the republicans are done with him…. Will the presidential race ever be somewhat civil again? Or did trump unscrew a lid that can’t be closed again? I used to like watching the debates and hearing about policies they most likely will never be able to pull off. But now it’s soooooo hard to listen to either side at this point because it’s just bullshit slinging back and forth and no one actually talking about policies most of the time. He also seemed to embolden a lot of people to just be outright racist, sexist, and LGBTQIA-ist and it’s fuckin sad to see, and i just dont get how people keep giving him a pass on all of this shit he’s done and or said, just excuses of that’s not what he means or putting the blame on some left wing bullshit or Biden or some other lame ass gaslighting excuse. Like of all the people in the us that are conservative or republican or whatever, that piece of shit is your best? Can someone explain it to me like I’m 5? Cus it’s honestly way over my head at this point.
I think this will begin a two tier party that will fight within each other and eventually branch off. However, I still think most of the politicians and pundits that are ‘Trumpers’ aren’t even that in on the guy. They all hate him after he ridicules them during primaries, but then toe the party line while being afraid of jeopardizing their political career when he’s their candidate. Coincidentally, it will be career suicide for them. I almost feel like the Trump hysteria is force fed. He did have popularity, in 2016. As proof by his rallies and Jan 6th that movement is hanging on by fingertips. It used to be a cult movement.
