The ones that were asked said they were there legally. And it's not like the interviewer is talking to Springfield's best and brightest. Heck, those people are having to compete with the Haitians for jobs and resources because they lack the education and skills. That isn't the fault of the Haitians. Nor is it the fault of the federal government. That's the fault of the State of Ohio. You have to wonder how many of the white people interviewed are on government assistance themselves as they rant and rave.
Probably. Springfield was a dying rust belt town that had lost a lot of population. Then a group of Haitian refugees settled there and did what immigrants do. Worked hard. Bought boarded up houses and repaired them. Businesses started returning because there was a reliable labor force. Far from depleting services, they revitalized them. Then some racist posts anonymous fourth hand rumor.
