Biden completed negotiations while recovering from COVID. He finalized deal in call an hour before announcing he would not continue re-election campaign. This would certainly have helped him but needed to be kept quiet.

Insurance is absolutely the wrong process for providing health care.

If the goal is to keep Americans healthy insurance is just wrong.

No other insurance operates like health insurance does.

Imagine if your homeowner's insurance had to cover paint, repairs, and home improvements. You have to get preauthorization before replacing your hot water tank?

Or if your car insurance had to cover gas, tires, tune-ups, brakes, and engine repairs?

"Sir, this gas station is out of network, we'll only pay 20% of your fillup."

Insurance is designed to spread risk over a group of people.

Not everyone has home fires or car accidents, but everyone has health problems.

It's so fucked up, health insurance pressures healthcare providers not to provide the best care, but less care. Doctors and healthcare providers get bonuses for not ordering things like tests or diagnostic imagining.

Health insurance is a broken and flawed system.

Having to provide health insurance is the #1 reason why small businesses can't expand. And the backbone of our economy is small businesses.

If the question is how do we provide the best health care to the citizens of the greatest country on earth, health insurance is not the answer.

We pay more per person than any country on earth and our health expectancy is decreasing.

And these problems are with Obamacare. Can you imagine what would happen if Obamacare were repealed and the pre-existing condition clause were nuked?

And this is exactly why the Right has been so terrified of Biden, why they keep labeling him this country's "greatest danger". He gets good stuff done that benefits ordinary Americans. He understands what it is the average American wants, instead of what the 1% wants. The Republicants can't compete with that. They've already lied to the "little people" who are propping them up, telling them that that stuff isn't doable (Joe Biden says, "Hold my beer!") or that they don't really need or want it. And then those folks see that it CAN be done, and that others are benefiting so now they're going to want some too. If I were a Republican (shudder) right now, I'd be doing my damndest to dump Trump and trying to find a candidate that might be at least half assed electable (without the cheating, attempted coups, etc, of course.........)

Yeah. He kind of defeats the "big government is bad so we don't do anything" Republican argument.

I responded to a tweet this afternoon. Someone with a libertarian handle said that Harris coming out with anti-price gouging proposals was not free market and unacceptable because we can't trust our government. I tweeted back that they sound like the 1890s robber barons that Teddy Roosevelt fought against, and that I'd rather have legislators we voted to represent us making those decisions rather than Musk, Bezos and other billionaires.

Despite all the evidence we have, these guys still think the oligarchies that arise from unregulated capitalism is a good thing. It's not. It never has been.

Congressman Comer issues lengthy report concluding Biden should be impeached although Congress couldn't find any crime.

Also he wants to launch investigation into Governor Walz for something.

We need to do away with the two party system. Ranked choice voting and TERM LIMITS for congress & the Supreme beings.

Biden said he was too young to be a Senator and too old to be president but did his best. That's Biden. He isn't flashy or charismatic or exciting. Just does his job.
Most of us are not geniuses, including the candidate who says he is. Just do our best.

Despite what the turd heads on the right say, he will be looked back on as a great president. He accomplished some great stuff in a 4 year window.
