After a strong preseason, what should the Blazer's goal be this year?

Thanks for focusing on "I guess" instead of " right now he's barely a backup" without any guess.

that's a weird hair you're trying to split....I was just reacting to the possibility that Scoot might become a superstar. I sure wasn't intending to hold you to a prediction. Just wonder about Scoot as superstar

But that isn’t what you said. You said they were offered and turned it down. Totally different than trying to extract.

Ok. I guess I should have made some green font there.

Either way, the links have been posted. And that's what I was referring to.

The quote of mine you used doesn’t really say that? It does make some sense that if you keep telling a player to lose intentionally and keep shutting him down to get another player that might be better than him so he could maybe even replace him that said player might not develop in the manner he would if he was forced to play to win in a winning situation.

    Thst much seems pretty obvious.

But the links literally are not what you are saying happened so no green font needed. It’s just plain false.

I disagree. And I've already posted some links that cover it. So if you read those and think something else happened then we'll just have to agree to disagree.

True story, I once listed Darius Miles in the Sporting Goods section of NYC Craigslist. Got an offer of a box of used hair wigs, which I accepted. But Craiglist took my post down so I couldn't complete the deal.

Henry Abbott Truehoop found out about it and posted it on his website.

Just letting you know if case you need me to trade Grant.

I’ll agree to disagree for sure no problem but I still have not read one link that says the Blazers turned down an offer which is what you originally said.
The Blazers may very well have called every team in the league but at this point I still have nothing confirmed that says they received an offer and refused it.

Regardless of what they have done, nobody is suggesting that they should continue to do that.

It is disingenuous to make the argument that anybody is saying that should be done.

So now you’re trying to step back on the tank?
In order to tank they will shut players down just like last year. You know this and Disingenuous is you now trying to act like they won’t. It’s called tanking because they try to lose. They do not try to win games. Sorry it ain’t me. I ain’t the one brother.

All you’re doing is messing up my “Like” to “Post” ratio with these arguments.

Well, I actually said we refused to make that trade (a trade for a single draft pick). Not that anybody specifically made any specific offer.

Portland made it public knowledge that they want two draft picks. So they aren't fielding offers for a single draft pick.

The Lakers were obviously in the market. Was there an official offer? Who the hell knows, it's all rumors. But Portland made it public they want two picks. Not one pick.

Nobody usually finds out exactly what offers really are or are not made.

It seems pretty clear that if the Blazers would have accepted one pick they probably could have gotten a deal done.

It's not stepping back on anything. You are arguing against a position I have never had.

I have said repeatedly that no players or coaches should be trying to lose. We should trade the mediocre middle-aged players who are good enough to help us beat bad teams but are not good enough to help us contend.

We'll naturall lose a lot, being as young as we are.

That has always been my position. I have repeated it many times.

To lose every game while developing Scoot, Sharpe and Clingan. All for the opportunity to draft Flagg

This is a lot of wasted energy on what should be a wasted season that we all should want.

We have to suck this year.

Way too talented to even think of tanking. 2-3 trade pieces to add in a few young players/draft picks and they are on their way. Yes, they will make the play-in this year.

The goal should be NOT to have a record that prevents us from both the playoffs and a high draft pick.

This year will be considered an epic disaster if we’re sitting around the 8th spot in draft positioning.

Meaning, trade Simons and Grant ASAP

If that is what you see them as, that is your choice. Viewing the team you follow through wins only, is also a choice.

I am happy about this team regardless. Are you?
