Shocked that RCV seems to be getting its butt kicked so far.

I will say, I was more engaged in the mayor and city council races this year than I ever have been before, because I felt like I actually needed to do the reading to be able to rank several candidates. It took a lot longer, but it was actually an enjoyable process. Really solidified my support for 117, once I actually got to do some ranked choice. Disappointed that the measure isn't faring better.

    There won’t be a 2028 election.

Oh there will. But the people running against him will strangely suffer defenestration.

This is either a very clever response to my post….. or you don’t know what defenestration means

I find this whole narrative to be BS. Yeah, the number of candidates was pretty ridiculous, and it required effort. But I was far more engaged in the mayor and city council races this year than I ever have been, and many people I've spoken to have said the same thing. And to be honest, if 20% of voters opted out of participating because looking at multiple candidates and selecting their favorites was "just too hard," then I will callously say that I don't want those people involved in the first place. If the local election isn't worth an hour of your time and attention, then I really don't care what you think.

I agree wholeheartedly. The local level is where your vote actually counts. If you don't care to take the little time necessary to try and make your neighborhood a better place, then STFU. Skip the national and state votes for all I care, but at the county level on down, voting matters. Though Multnomah County is Portland, which is where it starts to get really murky......
