    Teams are put into 5 tiers based on wins, then each group is assigned a team from each tier randomly.

    In the NBA, if a team calls for a timeout when they have none remaining, it results in a technical foul being assessed against that team. This situation is considered an excessive timeout, and according to the rules, the request for a timeout must be granted even if it exceeds the allotted number. Consequently, the team will be charged with a technical foul for this violation, which gives the opposing team free throws and possession of the ball afterward.

    Although Perplexity should know it's one free throw, not free throws.

    No, the Heat will not "get it out of bounds" which is what the Detroit announcers also said and thought. Possession went to Detroit.

    Not that it mattered much because as we know Miami had no timeouts and would have had to score with 1.1 seconds left going full court.
