It’s too early to give up on Deni but unless he turns it around by the break, he’s going to become Victor Claver or Mario Hezonja to me good defenders who can’t throw a basketball in a swimming pool

11th in the NBA in pace. Deni's minutes are also heavily paired with the starters primarily, our slower players Ant, Jerami, and Ayton, who feature slower-than-nba-average pace. he's even lost some of his 3rd/4th shifts to banton et al. we'll see if that changes if he plays off the bench with scoot.

and as someone above mentioned, pace doesn't even tell the whole story—this is about transition and fast break opportunities. we are not a transition team.

Deni is best on the break and helping initiate offense or as the 2nd action guy. Right now he's playing in a lot of halfcourt sets as the hot potato 4th or 5th option. The Wizards are a terrible basketball team but we do not play like they do.

I'm guessing a revote would look a bit different.

I'll stick with my "Maybe" answer.

So far Avdija’s shot has been pretty underwhelming. I like how he pushes, but he needs to make his shots for the trade to be a good one.

So Deni is another player who underperforms next to Grant and Simons.

That aught to help their value...

Failing to see what this has to do with Dame?

Fact: Dame did not play worse alongside Grant and Simons, and he hasn't played better since leaving them.

Everything else is speculation, so your comment that I quoted lacks any substance.

If you can't see how Dame's situation was COMPLETELY different than the situation these guys are being put in it's because you don't want to.

Fact: Dame's level of play has no bearing on anything I've said.

I suppose I should exit the conversation if you're that incapable of following the bouncing ball.

Did I say that every player they've ever played with underperforms next to them?

    No.

Yes, you should probably exit the conversation. You're not looking too great right now.

Players to through cold spells from 3, but what is up with Deni inside?

When we acquired him, I noticed what a good finisher he's been at the rim. Last year he shot over 74% at the rim, this year he's a 42%. How do you drop 30% points at the rim? He's in a serious funk right now.

He air balled at least 5 layups over the two games against Minny, although several of those were with contact. That's impressively bad touch. I'm sure it's Ant's fault, though.

lol, it's just the typical cringe stuff we get from this poster. Everything is Grant and Simons fault. Simon didn't play last night, I didn't see Deni have a great game...

Well, good news is, I have to believe this is just a terrible funk. He hasn't adjusted to the change or whatever. I like the other aspects of his game, he just needs to get back to making his layups.

Would you trade Avdija for Bub Carrington if Washington was interested?

Carrington still has a lot of faults in his game, but still what he is doing well is impressive for a 19 year old rookie.

    Carrington game log;

A couple nice rebounding games, he was 2 assists from a triple double.

No. I believe Deni will figure it out and the Blazers have a new identity, they are the super large team - and that means you need large, ball handling, play making players that can defend. That's Deni and Carrington will be a discount store Sharpe at best imho, so why go there?

We already had a Dame + a lesser version of him in CJ in the past, why do we want to go back to these kinds of roster balance decisions?
