I know he'll be super-easy to trade BUT PLEASE DON'T! Trade Ayton! Trade him at a loss, I don't care, just don't take away our best player! I'm just now getting over trading Josh Hart.

And then what happens when he inevitably gets hurt again?

Death comes for us all, that doesn't mean we shouldn't live while we have the chance

    Keep RWIII, do this instead:

Would you do this, even if there were no picks involved, just to clear out salaries? Cuz I absolutely would.
Question is, would Brooklyn? I think they might take a gamble with one eye on Milwaukee. Giannis has said he wants Brooklyn and I don't think Milwaukee would want to trade him just for expirings for fear of Bucks fans grabbing pitchforks and torches.

If they intend on trading Grant, I say keep all 3 centers unless there is a trade we can't refuse. I still want to see a twin-tower lineup for a few minutes each game. Maybe it will suck but maybe it will work. But a lineup of Clingan, DA, Deni, Sharpe, and Banton would be kind of fun (or possibly "funny") to watch. Assuming Banton keeps his 3-point shooting at a decent percentage.

If we can get a decent FRP then I'll be fine with it, wasn't expecting anything this last summer.

But if Joe can't get a good pick in return I'll be very happy to keep Timelord on the team. I'd even consider giving him an extension in the summer. Yeah he might be injured again, but if it can be reasonable dollar amount like his current contract he's just one of the ideal type of vets you can have on any team, especially our young team. I like the idea one poster had of us having a healthy year from him one time when were eventually trying to win sort of how Walton had that great 1986 year in Boston.

Of our three high-paid vets, I'd hang on to Grant. He works with what we're doing and he's a great lockerroom guy. Yes he's the oldest, but he's shown he can play the way we want to play. He's got no ego and he actually knows how to play the right way. Of course, if somebody comes offering a ton of picks, then sure, let him go. But unlike the others I'm not in a hurry to offload him.

Yeah I'd do the deal but I question Brooklyn will want to eat all that salary next year. Also they don't really have a spot for Ayton since they have Claxton who's much better.

I think they'd maybe consider something like Ant and Thybulle for Simmons which I would do.

Will be pleasantly surprised if Joe Cronin proves me wrong and gets a FRP for any of Ant Ayton Grant - but I expect none of them have that value. I'll be happy just to get out of any of their contracts.

Brooklyn just signed Claxton, why are they taking on ayton ?
And they've got cam Thomas to do what simons does. Makes no sense for them.

Plus they just got their picks back. There's no incentive to win.

Just about a 0% chance Milwaukee looks at Giannis trades during this season. They will want to wait to see how the team plays to finish the season first.

But next year or whenever if they do get to a point of shopping Giannis I certainly could see us involved as a 3rd team since we have those 3 years of their picks.

Brooklyn does make a ton of sense too... they have enough picks to make a real offer. Their roster needs to better prove its ready to win with Giannis now though.

Rob is the one vet that we have that seems from my limited viewpoint to be an excellent leader and example for all of our young guys. The injury thing is a major concern for me, so if we could get a FRP for him along with expiring contracts or to a team with an exception then I would want him traded to that team so he can try and win big while he still can (we're still a ways off from the playoffs let alone contention).

So yeah, I don't want Joe to dump Rob. Hell I don't even want Joe dumping Jerami or Ant just to clear cap space that we won't likely be able to use effectively anyway. I don't want Deandre dumped. I even think Tisse has a contract that could be moved for some minor value whether that's an expiring contract and/or some second rounders or even better draft assets but a bad returning contract that we could afford to eat right now.

Joe should be able to get value for thees guys because regardless of if they are starting which I think a handful of teams could use Deandre to start right now and a ton of teams could use Jerami as a starter. Maybe Ant is best suited for the bench but I think most teams would find more than 20 minutes for him. Rob and Tisse as well. They all have value and I don't think any of them are on a contract that is a big overpay for that value.

All five of these guys can contribute to wins and not just regular season wins, playoff wins. So I think Joe should be able to get value back for every one of them. I don't expect that he will move all five by the trade deadline and Rob is by far the one I'd like on the team as a leader for the rest of this season but some of them have to go and all of them probably should.

So they're adding Ayton and Simons so that they can then turn around and trade those guys for Giannis this season?
