to quote Chris Rock "you can drive a car with your feet, that doesn't mean it's a good idea"... pretty sure that either would be the smallest starting SF in the league. STOMP
Can anyone explain why he had the worst rebounding rate on his entire team, even worse than 6'1" guards? I'll be very surprised if Portland drafts him.
Well, his team did lead the conference in defensive rebounding. Either way, I would hope the Blazers are smart enough to evaluate a player's potential and not his stats in a half-year of college ball.
I'd take Salaun at 7 and move 14 and change for 11 to take one of Holland, Williams, Ware, Missi, Tyson or Dadiet.
Not quite as thick but watching Holland I get a Andre Iguodala vibe. Good defender and can finish with power.
I'm prepared to eat crow if this guy does not pan out, having been one of his bigger cheerleaders on here. So far, watching some of his footage/games, he is way too passive but shows signs of being a guy who can move around and defend. I think he needs touches and room to make mistakes with those touches. The Jazz ought to send him to the G-League or trade him in Year 2/3 so someone else can develop him because with their current core of Sexton, George, Markkanen, Collier needing the ball, I don't know that he'll actually be able to develop his 3nD point forward strengths. Limited physical strength probably neuters his skills, too. I still really like how smooth he looks when he's doing well on offense and defense. That clip shows what I mean.
I saw him at Summer League and he stuck out like a sore thumb: easily one of the best rookies I saw. SMOOOOOTH.
Cody Williams has been absolutely horrific. 3.5 pts on 19.6 mpg. That includes 7 starts. 29% from the field, 20% from 3. 14 games isn't a full sample size, and it doesn't mean he won't make the jump later, but right now, he does not have the stats of an nba player.
