I may have missed some of your posts, but this is the first I’ve seen with that bit of common sense included.
But remember, Portland can also be the dumping ground for the players OKC has to shed. They soon will not be able to afford everyone and have draft picks to replace the players cheaply. Joe needs to set up to be able to take a player or two.
I mean, sure. Somebody could give us the next Giannis for free, and maybe we'll win the lottery and draft him and some other guys with late first rounders. That typically takes us 15-20 years to do... And even then we need a ROY to put it all together.
There's dozens of all-NBA players in the league not drafted high in the lottery - your MVP example you list being one of them in Giannis. The best player in the league was a 2nd rounder drafted during a taco bell ad. I'm on board with tanking for good picks - but it's just flat wrong to state that's the only way to build a contender.
Yes. I've already agreed with that. We could theoretically win the "Powerball" as well. But we can do that regardless of if we are tanking or not. In fact, our odds of doing that are probably improved by tanking and getting as many picks as possible. Tanking is the only way for us to actively significantly improve our odds of becoming a contender sooner.
And that ironic statement confirms that the Empire were the good guys and the rebels were just terrorists following a cult of religious extremists. The only reason we think the Empire was evil was Lucas created the narrative with the scrolling Marquee https://search.app/1czXPucUj4whH4ax9
Now take that link and compare it to today’s society. Who is the republic and who is the dictator? At any rate, my point stands, regardless of who was good and who was evil. When believing there is only one answer to any problem needing solved, it limits our ability to remain open minded enough to entertain solutions outside of our own belief or box.
Tanking and trading for draft picks gives us the highest number of most likely opportunities to take advantage of.
Right. And not taking the option that gives you the best chance at th most talent and success would be insane. Tanking is the only option that gives us a decent chance at competing this decade.

I didn't say that. You said that. It's very clearly written exactly what I said. If you aren't doing your best to be the best you can then you are insane. Absolutely 100% in my opinion.
Yes, 100%. We need more talent all up and down our roster. There is no other way to reliably increase our overall talent level than by drafting as high as possible.
