No Ayton tonight, so the team isn't mentally motivated. Welcome to the brave new world if we trade Ayton. Many 60-point losses.

It's getting to the point where the only time you want to see Clingan touching the basketball is when he's blocking a shot. Now he's not just losing the rebounds, he's scoring putbacks for the other team.

I’ll bet you would be hard pressed to find a center that has not done that at least once.

what exactly is billups' offense? guys just going one on 5 every possession.

games like this make it more obvious how basic chauncey is.

Mentally lazy. This will not be a good loss, because we came out with no energy of any kind. We played dumb.

Yeah, it's worthless for development. We could still be a lottery team and develop good habits. This franchise's approach right now is just to lose. Nothing else. Just lose.

A most frustrating situation for a fan. I just want to see a ray of light from this organization now and then. But there is no way this team makes the post season in less than 5 years. Nfw. There aren’t enough draft picks for Joe to acquire the necessary talent by 2030.

POR = WAS = DET from a few years ago.

The idea of a quick rebuild was utter bullshit. POR is clearly the worst org in the west and it ain’t close.

until I see otherwise the Vulcans, Cronin, and Billups don’t have the answers

    Awful spacing. Awful ball movement.

I have no idea what our offense intends to be. It looks like a bad version of 2000 style.

Shaedon scoring tonight, but 12 or 13 missed shot and 6 turnovers. Yuck.

Bad loss. Low quality play. Scoot should have stayed home tonight.

If and it's a big IF, Ant's value around the league had been depressed by his early season shooting, that has now been rehabilitated.

Still hoping for trades of Ant and Jerami really soon... hopefully the returns make sense (picks, prospects and no vets that need playing time).

The third quarter was nice. That break with the behind the head pass from Shaedon to Donovan was so much fun. There was a really scary moment from Deni where he was just laying there holding his knee but that turned out alright.

For those of you mad about tonight, I do wish we came out with more energy and could have sustained the kind of play we saw in the third but we got some good run for our young guys tonight and had some really competitive moments. I didn't find this game particularly painful to watch.

What's the vision for Scoot if he never becomes a scoring threat?

He could stay a less potent scoring threat and become a Ricky Rubio type but he just has to become a better decision maker everywhere on the court. I think if his decision making comes around some how, he will be a better scorer than Rubio. If he can get his BBIQ up then he'll be a star... that doesn't seem to be happening though, so we're still waiting to see but we're seeing more and more.

I know this a sensitive subject. Trying not to draw any conclusions. Just looking at trends -

    upload_2025-1-12_5-6-8.png

Last year, 15% of Scoot's games were 'good', 32% were 'bad'.

This year, 13% of Scoot's games have been 'good', and 37% have been 'bad'.

Do the Blazers need to play him more and get him more game time experience? Does coaching drive a big part of this lack of progress?

Early in the game Scoot drove to the left and had an opportunity for the left-handed layup but opted for the difficult up and under using his right hand and missing the shot. How does a player make it into the NBA, and be a second-year player, and still be so right hand dominant? Is this on the player, the coaching staff, or both?

    Sharpe’s handles are trash
    Scoot’s shooting is trash
    Clingan’s hands are trash
    Calabro is trash
    Banton is trash
The teams 3 point defense is trash
The team who tanked properly and gets Cooper Flagg is trash
