No, California is not stopping Oregon fire trucks for emissions testing, officials say https://www.kptv.com/2025/01/12/no-...-fire-trucks-emissions-testing-officials-say/
Of course it isn't accurate. It's all an estimate. Your numbers are almost certainly not accurate either. There are already easements in the road. So they aren't a problem. And this is a government project which can eliminate easements via eminent domain. Yes sewer and gas are already underground, but they are hard to access for repairs. I'm suggesting updating that. Over 9 million homes have lead pipes that need to be replaced. Mostly in low income areas. This would address that problem as well. And replacing the lead pipes NEEDS to be done. It is immoral to continue allowing homes to be serviced by lead pipes. It is harming those communities. While you're at it, future proof the services... A lot of these costs would be shared. A not insignificant amount of it is already going to be spent anyway. How much would depend on the district and the specific situation. But if we had a trillion dollar fund available that local communities could tap into you can bet they'd be doing everything possible to take advantage of it. You'd just have to make sure certain criteria was met before releasing the funds.
These guys are just trying to create a platform for themselves. People need to stop resharing this shit.
How are we not sending everything in to stop these fires? I know lot of help has come. But, we got to get these fires out. I don't know whether these fires were set intentionally (it appears at least one may have been) or that they are true wild fires. But, the mismanagement issues here are insane if true. No water in the reservoir, all the extreme cuts to the fire department, etc etc. The losses could be over a billion. Not sure how the insurance companies are going to be able to pay out for all of this. It might bankrupt them.
Governor Newsom invited Trump to view fire damage. He has not replied. Better to just call names while President Musk blames fires on LA having female fire chief (she has 22 years experience and worked her way up the ranks).
Good. Pay out for everyone, fuck the insurance companies i hope all of the companies get fucked and we can put in regulations so they can't fuck us over like it's a business model... oh wait, that's because that IS their business model. Pay every cent people deserve, then fuck the companies for the rest of eternity. I hope they all go bankrupt after they pay out, it's what they deserve.
What additional steps do you propose? It's not clear that there's more that can be done. Maybe if we lashed Trump to the tower on Mt. Wilson, he could blow hot air eastward and counteract the Santa Ana. Very likely a combination of various sources - firebugs, power lines, people trying to bbq in a windstorm, smokers, etc. If true. Unlikely to be true in any meaningful sense. Yeah, it's too bad one reservoir was off-line. Not sure there actually were extreme cuts to the fire department. People want to find a scapegoat, but there are literally billions of people to blame. barfo
I used to live in a garage apartment 4 houses from the Eaton fire perimeter, and I only escaped the fire by leaving town a mere 30 years or so ago. Close call! barfo
My brother and his wife have two cats. They’re overall pretty cool cats I like them. But we got take out of some Asian chicken wings when we were at their place last night and one of the cats jumped up and grabbed one of my chicken wings and darted off. How annoying. I didn’t realize cats do that with food.
