May I ask what the issue is with men discussing this? I am being praised by women on FB for inquiring and trying to better understand. Men discussing helps us better understand the female side. How is that a bad thing? No one has told women how to feel. Some, including myself have said i think women would feel differently and that has been backed up as correct by women. what do you feel is the downside to men discussing the different types of sexual harassment?

One of the premises is that women are taught to be “nice”, that if you don’t go along with things that make you uncomfortable, you’re seen as a bitch, etc. What I teach especially when I’m instructing girls is that it is OKAY to not be nice, they are not required to accept behavior that makes them uncomfortable and that includes hugging/kissing family members if they don’t want to, that it’s okay to expect people to accept a firm no without questioning it. Our intuition is the one thing that is naturally innate within us that unfortunately, most women when taught to “be nice” learn to ignore or put aside their life saving abilities to save themselves from being violated. Normalizing these kind of discussions reinforce that women have the right to live free of other people’s actions that can traumatize them. No woman deserves to be assaulted. Violence and violations are always the fault of the assailant!”

Just read above on one woman's response to my question… That response is someone ive known for thirty plus years. Come on now…people are people. First, no one went on fb to “improve themselves”. I went on face and posed the following question and asked for females to chime in: “Serious question not looking for a debate but other female opinions. Would you consider an unwanted pat on the ass from a coworker the same type of sexual assualt as if that coworker followed you home and raped you? Would you consider one more severe than the other? Curious as to your opinion, which everyone is entitled to. Thanks in advance for your thoughts on this.” No one told me i shouldn't be asking or im mansplaining anything.
