To explain: The U.S. space program in the 50s consisted of newbie native American scientists, and very effective former Nazi scientists imported after WW2, led by Wernher von Braun. By the 60s, American scientists were the public face, having learned from the Germans, although the 60s' Saturn 5 was still a totally von Braun creation.

Can anyone find sound for this?

This is very interesting for history. It says: Musk's father (often reviled in the media) was anti-Afrikaaner. Musk's mother (whose odd wolflike face is often photographed near Musk) came from parents who liked apartheid and theoretical Nazism. So much that they moved from Canada to South Africa. Political arguments caused Musk's parents to break up (I think it says) before they could get married.

I didn't make it clear that it was the mother's parents, not the mother, arguing for apartheid.

The arguments were between Musk's young father, and Musk's mother's parents. Musk's mother wasn't in the political arguments, and in fact cried for 3 weeks after the breakup and lost weight. (I might nickname her present look as Old Wolfie.)

I only read the last page of the thread, but from that much, Fizzle wins the thread for 2 finds, posts 240 & 241.

If people believed what they saw and not what they are told we wouldn't have so many fucking stupid people voting for a fucking idiot.

That reminds me: what are all the people who claimed that Antifa did January 6th saying about the pardons?

I don't believe that even you believe this. But even if you are brainwashed enough to believe it, the people making these posts (like the odious Chaya Raichik) are completely and shamelessly disingenuous

In case you haven't seen it, the latest feeble right wing attempt to defend Musk is to claim that (a) he's autistic, (b) the "salute" was an involuntary twitch that resulted from his autism and (c) anyone who criticizes him is horribly ableist.

I don't think autistic people in general are pleased with this approach, to put it mildly. But it's nice to see that Trumpers have suddenly become interested in disability rights...

They're just throwing shit at the wall so they can justify it to themselves. As someone who has worked with people with ASD for almost 20 years now, what they're describing (as the reason he did it) is not autism, Asperger's or anything related to it.

What it is, tho, does start with the same letter and ends with an E.
