De'Aron Fox wants out after next season from Kings. Kings want "win now" pieces." Simons and other player(s) for Fox, then send Fox somewhere for picks for the Blazers? Word is Fox wants to go to San Antonio. Someone run a trade scenario.
Changed it up. I think Sac would want more and they wouldn't want to send out a pick. I think Cronin would want more than 2 firsts if we're sending out Simons/Grant/RWIII. We definitely get the worst value out of this. Maybe we could flip Barnes and Middleton?
I think it's not bad. A lot of moving parts probably makes it hard to get done. I think we could probably flip Barnes as well. He's been pretty good for the Spurs this year and I think we could get a prospect or draft considerations for him if we took on a worse contract.
Yeah the main problem is that they don’t have many contracts to trade. Most Collins, Barnes and Johnson.
Spurs got enough picks to get Fox and maybe send one to us. Kings have a couple dozen years of doing dumber moved than this. Sneaking in as the 3rd team in a trade like this might be the best chance we have to get any value for our vets.
I think Joe planted those stories in an effort to make the Lakers feel pressured to offer one pick. I don't think they ever offered one.
Apparently Fox listed us as a team he would like but it makes no sense. He’s 27 and really not the level of star that would push us over the top. I’d love to get involved in the trade though.
I like that idea, but what if we try and steal Castle away instead? A 3-way trade sending Fox to Spurs: Spurs get: Fox Kings get: Ant, Paul, Rob Williams III, The other Murray Blazers get: Castle, Collins, Huerter Spurs get a young star guard, Kings get solid vets to round out their win now playoff roster and complete their twin set, Blazers get a big defensive guard for our guard rotation of the future Scoot-Sharpe-Castle.
Do the Hawks have their 2025 pick? Because if so, they might be content to tank again. Otherwise it's a good idea (although of course Grant is not going to help with their rebounding), except there's no way they'd take Ayton, and I very much doubt they'd give up Hunter, who is a 6MOY candidate. A smaller version would be:
I don’t understand this thinking. Giving away assets for virtually nothing doesn’t seem like a good way to build the team. I’d rather all of those guys just get tanking injuries to pad the loss column and try to make better trades over the summer.
