Would anybody consider this trade if it allowed movement of one of our guards down the road. Screenshot 2025-02-03 at 12.46.45 PM.png

We could do worse with the players gone in this trade. Screenshot 2025-02-03 at 12.56.23 PM.png Screenshot 2025-02-03 at 12.58.34 PM.png

Any trade that brings in another under sized guard who can only score is an auto fail for me --- NOW if this guard can shoot 3's and play some D and 6'4 maybe 5 or better then I might be game for it but no more guards who are over paid and are average at best on D and maybe more important takes minutes from Scoot or Sharpe.

    Not by much worse.

Beal is the worst contract in the NBA right now. He's a 7th/8th man talent being paid like a superstar (for 3 more years).

Not saying this is the perfect deal but he is 6'4" Grants contract is 102 million over the next three years alone. Beal 110 million next two years. You cannot teach shooting. Henderson, Sharp and Beal or some combination of the bench would be pretty substantial.

Thybulle and Williams will cost us 25 million next year. So the trade woud save us 17 Million in the next three years

Beal wouldn’t come here. He wouldn’t waive his no trade clause. It’s all moot.

You never know the way the Blazers beat the hell of out Phoenix last game and the environment he is in he might. Maybe Phoenix is not showing him the love he wants at this time. But it is an issue with the no trade in his contract. It would not be the first time a player waived this right.

I wonder if the Blazers would have tried to get in the discussion for Luka if they had a chance?

What promising young player did the Blazers trade away lately?

seems like they actually traded FOR a couple young promising players in Camara and Avdija.

I really would not care if they put the top 10 players in the big markets, but what are they? LA x 2, NY x 2, CHI. Then what, Philly, BOS? But then you have to take the officiating away from the league and have truly independent refs that do not give the "star treatment." A travel is a travel, a foul committed at the six minute mark of the first quarter is a foul in the last 20 seconds of the game. It would interesting to see how quickly the power would shift if the game was just called evenly. But we know the league needs to control the product, and the refs are the biggest controllers.

Then why have teams in small markets?

They did, and they will both need to get paid big bucks in a couple years. If they decide this is where they want to be.

The Blazers have had a history of developing players and trading them away or letting them walk only for them to have good careers elsewhere. Can't keep players here long enough to build anything.

Seems like maybe that's changing now, but we are probably about to trade away Simons who we have developed into a good player and the revolving door will continue.

That just sets up for disappointment when it doesn't materialize.
It is better if the trade comes out of nowhere. I need to take a nap for 3 days.
