There are rats in every country. Ukraine is ferreting them out as fast as they can. I believe that almost every phone call made in Ukraine is monitored. russia's invasion changed a lot of attitudes: they would never elect a russian lover again. it's not even possible because I don't think the strongest russian leaning oblasts will ever be Ukrainian again.

I just don't buy this. Lots of the countries in NATO have large russian populations and lots of russian spies who have been entrenched for years. NATO wouldn't be anymore compromised than they are now. Besides they aren't going to be making secret plans to invade russia, so I don't think the spies can do much damage.

OK, here is what I came over here for today. Been so long that I don't know what will pop up when I hit "paste". :)
Oh yeh, wanted to include all oil and gas. Tried to bully Ukraine into signing immediately or they would never get to meet with Vance (that's an incentive?). Nothing in return to Ukraine.

BTW, while russia spent the night aiming at civilian targets, Ukraine set another refinery on fire and hit an oil pipeline hard enough to put it out of commission temporarily, also somebody sabotaged two very expensive portable radar stations near Moscow.

'Panic' in Ukraine as leaked confidential Trump peace plan astounds: report

The UK-based Telegraph newspaper has obtained a copy of a proposed peace plan being pitched by the Trump administration to Ukraine that has reportedly set off "panic" in Kyiv.

As the Telegraph writes, the plan delivered to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy last week would "amount to the US economic colonization of Ukraine, in legal perpetuity" and also "implies a burden of reparations that cannot possibly be achieved."

In sum the plan would guarantee the United States half of the revenues generated by the extraction of resources in Ukraine going forward, as well as half of revenues generated by "all new licenses issued to third parties" in the country.

While Zelenskyy had in the past proposed developing a partnership with the United States to extract key minerals in his country, the proposed deal goes far beyond anything he pitched to President Donald Trump in recent months.

According to the Telegraph, "Trump’s demands would amount to a higher share of Ukrainian GDP than reparations imposed on Germany at the Versailles Treaty, later whittled down at the London Conference in 1921, and by the Dawes Plan in 1924." At the same time, Trump plans to entirely let Russia off the hook for its invasion of Ukraine three years ago that has resulted in hundreds of thousands of deaths in both countries.

Offer a peace plan so shitty that Ukraine has no choice but to turn it down and once they do, Russia and the US can claim they want peace and Ukraine doesn't.

Russia and the US agree to work towards improving ties and ending the Ukraine war in landmark talks

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia (AP) — Russia and the U.S. agreed Tuesday to start working towards ending the war in Ukraine and improving their diplomatic and economic ties, the two countries’ top diplomats said after talks that reflected an extraordinary about-face in U.S. foreign policy under President Donald Trump.

In an interview with The Associated Press, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that the two sides agreed broadly to pursue three goals: to restore staffing at their respective embassies in Washington and Moscow, to create a high-level team to support Ukraine peace talks, and to explore closer relations and economic cooperation.

He stressed, however, that the talks — which were attended by his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, and other senior Russian and U.S. officials — marked the beginning of a conversation, and more work needs to be done down the road.

Lavrov echoed Rubio’s remarks and told reporters that “the conversation was very useful.”

“We not only listened, but also heard each other,” he said.

No Ukrainian officials were present at the meeting, which came as the beleaguered country is slowly but steadily losing ground against more numerous Russian troops in a grinding war that began nearly three years ago.

    Improving Russian-US relations
Ties between Russia and the U.S. have fallen to their lowest level in decades in recent years — a rift that has been widening ever since Russia annexed Crimea from Ukraine in 2014 and only worsened after Moscow’s full-scale invasion.

The U.S., along with European nations, imposed a raft of sanctions on Russia in an effort to damage its economy. And embassies in Washington and Moscow have been hit hard by expulsions of large numbers of diplomats, as well as other restrictions.

Rubio said Tuesday that ending the war in Ukraine could “unlock the door” for “incredible opportunities that exist to partner with the Russians geopolitically on issues of common interest and frankly, economically on issues that hopefully will be good for the world and also improve our relations in the long term.”

His comments were further evidence of the remarkable U.S. reversal on Russia after years in which Trump’s predecessor, Joe Biden, led international efforts to isolate Moscow.

Tuesday’s meeting was meant to pave the way for a summit between Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin. After the talks wrapped, Putin’s foreign affairs advisor, Yuri Ushakov, told Russia’s Channel One that no date has been set yet for that summit but that it was “unlikely” to take place next week.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Lavrov mentioned the same three goals as Rubio and said that Washington and Moscow agreed to appoint representatives to carry out “regular consultations” on Ukraine.

“I have reason to believe that the American side has started to better understand our position” the Russian foreign minister said.

So we're weakening our economic ties with our allies and strengthening them with Russia?!?

As long as Putin is alive and in power there is nothing we need from Russia. Fuck that.

Also, the US is demanding new elections in Ukraine as part of any peace deal.

Yes, you read that right. Not in Russia, where people running against Putin end up in jail and/or dead.

This is a must read; exposes the false narratives by Trump team that they are carrying NATO; by citing real facts and figures; many single countries in NATO have ten times the amount of ground forces as USA in Europe. . Explains why no matter what the Trump team will do to betray Ukraine, in the end the ZSU (Ukrainian army) will be the deciding factor.

Ukraine 'ready to be carved up' by Trump and Putin

Trump says he wants at least $500 billion worth of Ukraine’s rare earth deposits, around half of which actually lie in territories currently occupied by Russia.

    https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-news/ukraine-ready-carved-up-trump-34700823

To date, we have provided $65.9 billion in military assistance since Russia launched its premeditated, unprovoked, and brutal full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, and approximately $69.2 billion in military assistance since Russia's initial invasion of Ukraine in 2014.
