Your words. I simply responded. So yeah, you DID blame Boomers. And sorry, anyone who voted for a convicted felon and adjudicated sex offender (let's don't forget multiple bankruptcies, insurrection, two impeachment's, etc, etc, etc) IS the problem and I DO blame them. No apologies or excuses made. This country is full of ignorant, if not criminally stupid people. If it wasn't, you and I wouldn't even be having this conversation. And ANYTHING is better than what we have at this moment. I am fully in the @Strenuus camp on this.....and I didn't even need a reach around to get there.

How would you know that though? Seems like more of a guess.

Things have gotten worse economically in this country since the 80's. Both Republican and Democrats contributed to the conditions. Lots of people worked hard. This is a fairy tale. The system must fall if it has any chance to improve and serve the people.

Because I know how I did it, and what systems were in place that helped me do it, and what economic conditions were necessary for success.

That isn't blaming booomers, that's an observation. It's like talking to Mitt Romney about the economy. We don't expect you to understand the plight of other generations.

Do you blame Democrats for re-electing Marion Barry as mayor? I liken it to the same thing. These are protest votes against the system.

Obviously I didn't vote for Trump and never would, but I don't blame voters for voting against the failing establishment. Stop taking aim at your fellow Americans and unite against the system who robs you.

Many of those systems are not in place now. Obviously. And you reiterating to vote a certain ways speaks to that disconnect.

I certainly do. Eric Adams as well. And the NJ senator with the gold bars - I'm blanking on his name right now.
And any other corrupt politician, I blame those that voted for them.
Voting for more corruption as a protest against corruption is fucking idiotic.

I agree. Unfortunately, if you don't vote for corruption you aren't likely to be voting for either party. I know there is a spectrum of corruption, but if the line is "don't vote for corruption" then you'd be sitting out nearly every election and seat.

Yes, affordable housing still exists from the time you came up. Right. Right.

This is exactly the stuff MSNBC and CNN was selling to the populace. The economy is great. Look at these numbers! Just ditch the avocado and toast!

I am so happy to see you acknowledge that there is a spectrum. So the rational thing to do is vote for less corruption, not more corruption, rather than sitting out. That's all I'm arguing for.

I understand your position, but it is not a winning one. There were many "less corrupt" Democrats who won elections, and the conditions for life continued to get worse under their leadership. This is why it is faulty to suggest you can vote your way out of this hellhole.

Affordable housing didn't have much bearing on my journey. If I'd been forced to spend a much higher percentage of my income on housing at any point, that would have been a bummer, but it wouldn't have changed anything for me professionally.

I acknowledge that housing costs are significantly higher now.

Yeah, Dems fucked up voting for those candidates. Unfortunately, there are bad apples amongst the crop, but there are lots more bad apples on the right and Amirlcon fails to see that. There is a lot less corruption on the left and many candidates who do care about their constituents and making the country better for the people.

I'm arguing for not intentionally making things worse.

Of course, lack of corruption doesn't guarantee a good outcome - an uncorrupt person can still make bad decisions.

I don't that's because they were bad or corrupt necessarily. More good intentions without the backbone to play hard like the right has.

The GOP has completely sold out its country and it's people. The party does not represent at all the people. They represent the rich and only the rich. They are willing to reverse robin hood the poor so the rich can have a few more dollars which they would not have missed anyway. It's just pure greed.

There are those too on the left in government who are beholden to lobbyists and thus the rich, but there is a difference. The left still tried to help the actual people with programs, better health care, and such. The Republicans do nothing but cut that stuff.

Affordable housing has a bearing on ALL OUR JOURNEYS. It is the beginning and end to our freedom and our prospects to fulfill our potentials.

This is why you sound wildly out of touch.

This is a REALLY bad time to both sides. We already know its both sides in its totality.

However, its OBJECTIVELY clear there's clear corruption happening, and it's OPENLY being done by the GOP and people both elected and not elected in the white house.

What? I've said this a million times. The right is more corrupt. Duh. Where have you been?

One is fast tracking the rich taking over, the other is is still fast, but not as fast as the other.
