They've had a team for 27 years, and they've had shitty support for 27 years.

For example, they've been 2nd to last or *dead* last in AL attendance for 18 of their 27 years of existence. And those aren't just because they were bad those years. They were the #1 team in the AL 4 times during their existence. Their best attendance ranking during those years? 9th. For one year. The other 3 were 14th, 13th and 12th. Admittedly, one of those years was the covid year, so I think that ranking (13th) was alphabetical.

In the 7 years they made the playoffs (not counting covid year), they've never been above 9th, and that was in their first year as a playoff team.

Their best attendance ranking came in their first year. And then it immediately went to 10th. They've had one year where they averaged over 30K, and only 4 where they averaged more than 20.

Yes, you could argue their ownership is crappy, but that's an easy excuse. They just don't support the team.

Teams move for less.. nobody would even care there if they left. They have nfl and nhl. Both recent champions. Rays should move

A commercial grading permit has been issued. 10 years ago a grading permit was issued for the All Net casino on the Vegas strip.

    The casino was never built.

8 years ago a grading permit was issued for the Riviera Casino site after it was torn down. The convention center was supposed to be expanded there but it was eventually turned into a parking lot.

As long as it never comes to a vote by Portland residents it might pass. I lived in SF in the 80s when they tried to pass funds for a new stadium. It failed every time because the majority of baseball fans lived in the surrounding suburbs and were not allowed to vote. It came close several times but never passed (traffic, taxes etc) Hopefully this gets done without much "protest"

I’m way too busy on the Airport right now to know any extra on PDX Diamond Project.
When I get a chance I’ll put some effort into it.

It’ll pass. All it is just asking to adjust to inflation since the original bill passed in 2003

The Lotus Cafe building was demolished in 2018. At that time, an article said this:

"The Lotus building will be replaced by a 10-story office building with ground-floor retail. The adjacent surface parking lot to the east of the Lotus building will have a 20-floor boutique hotel featuring a rooftop pool and bar, along with two restaurants."

2nd and 3rd phase of the upgrades. It’s really going to be very nice.

You all who travel a bit will be very happy with the rest of the PDX project. Portland might end up with one of the very nicest airports in the country.

I was very impressed this last week. It was my first time travelling out of PDX since the phase 1 roll out. My only critique is that signage for check-in and baggage could be better. That is probably more each carrier's issue though. Beautiful design.
