I don't know why. He had a house there before he played for the Lakers. His kids were in school there too. Y'all love to hate on Lebron for no reason.
That's it?!? Like he's not one of the best passers in league history, like he's not one of the biggest guys ever to have his level of handles... of course he's an athletic freak but he's also a basketball savant. The way he sees and manipulates the game is right up there with Magic and Larry and MJ. The guy is so skilled at every aspect of the game. I think anyone not including him on their Mt. Rushmore or just not caring about hime and/or righting him off as nothing more than an athletic freak is actually hating on the guy. He's too damn good at too many things to minimize his greatness into "He's an athletic freak. That's it."
Shit, some people on here should google Harold Minor and try to figure out why he didn’t end up in the hall of fame? Elliot Williams on Line 1…..
I simply don't like watching him or his antics. He's a dominant force. But the way he behaves turns me off. Drama queen. I just don't enjoy it. I think he encompass what's wrong with much of the NBA. MJ, Magic, and Bird were all incredibly good for basketball in virtually every respect. They didn't have any of LeBron's spoiled brattitudes. Passing is an athletic endeavor. As are handles. Yes, he's skilled. Very cool. He's not a good ambassador and I'd find it very hard to root for the Blazers if he were here. I'm sure I'd do it. But it wouldn't feel right. Anybody as gifted as LeBron that people have to say "why do people hate on him" so much is doing something wrong. Nobody loved to hate Bird, MJ, or Magic like that. They may have hated losing to those guys. But that's different.
You simply can’t compare different eras like that. There was NO MEDIA COVERAGE of players back then. I have sat at a restaurant table with former players from that era and older who cracked on Magic and Bird for shit they used to do. There just wasn’t’ a twitter account following them around sharing it. Don’t belittle what LeBron has accomplished on the court because you don’t like he acts. I won’t share some shit about MJ I have heard from a few people. Kinda killed my love for him honestly.
He's not "arguably" the best player ever. Almost nobody considers him the best ever. His camp creates all kinds of basketball pages on social media trying to push that narrative and 99% of the votes go against him. It's honestly funny and pitiful. Next time you see those posts that say "Like for MJ or heart for LeBron" look at what people actually vote. LeBron isn't in that stratosphere. I'd take any of MJ, Bird, or Magic over LeBron on ability alone. LeBron has an unlikable vibe that sometimes overwhelms his incredible gifts. Like Carmelo or Chris Paul. It's just thet LeBron is so gifted he's found more success than those guys. And yes, he's clearly put in a lot of work as well. But yeah. He is the biggest, most athletically gifted player in NBA history. Only guy close would have been Wilt. But Wilt didn't have the fine motor ability LeBron has. That's why LeBron is even in the same conversation. He's not an alpha like the other top guys. A killer. He has to force that. It's insincere for him. Phoney. He wishes he was as good as Larry Bird. Like truly and honestly wishes it. He wants so badly to be loved like that. But he never will be. Let alone MJ.
I don't worship MJ. I thought he was an asshole. But he was still totally different on the court than LeBron. Completely different stratosphere. I can't think of any additional media stuff that has caused me to have a more negative opinion of LeBron (The way he chose Miami over Cleveland, excluded). But that was 100% his fault. And speaks to his poor decision making. Otherwise, I feel like that extra media stuff he handles pretty well. It's his attitude and the way he carries himself and behaves on the court that has turned me off. Maybe it comes off as hate, but it's really just a distaste. It's not what I prefer. I don't care about the guy. I don't want harm to come to him, but I prefer if he loses. I was excited to watch MJ. I'm never excited to watch LeBron. I go back and look for clips of magic and bird. When they were playing I caught every game of theirs I could. Same with MJ. Same with Steph and so many others. LeBron isn't like that. His antics on the court ruin it for me. The way he expects special treatment, or tries so hard to be the center of attention and expects to be elevated above everyone else.
He's an amazing human who built a school, and funded 1000's of kids college tuition. Put some respect on his name.
Awesome. A billionaire built a school. That shouldn't be necessary. I don't care about his publicity stunts. Though I am glad those kids can get an education. It also probably saved him more tax money than it cost him to actually build it. Pretty irrelevant to my opinion of him as a player in the NBA.
Wish Lillard well, blood clots can be very serious. In terms of the Blazers another reason I'm so glad Cronin was able to trade Lillard last year. Guys who have season ending injuries in the 30s like Dame did the year prior to us trading him often have more of those. The Bucks barely won a couple playoff games last year and might get swept this season. Hell they might not even make it out of the playin. We definitely sold high on supermax Dame and were able to get some great assets as well as clear opportunities for young guys who are way more exciting here. Now I do wish we hadn't kept this overpaid Grant/Ant/Ayton worthless vet trio.... but I consider those two decisions to be unrelated.
