Again, that's bollocks. Striving to lose is counterproductive, and not worth the cost inherent in delaying player development. Fuck the draft. Let the ping pong balls fall where they may.
I honestly think we hurt the development of our players far more this season than if we'd done the prudent thing and traded/sat the vets. Both Scoot and Sharpe have had confidence issues thanks to playing with these vets (and for Billups), IMO. Even Deni had some stretches...
We’re in it. We need to win 5 games and need Kings to go 2-4. Their opponents are Hornets, Cavs, Pistons, Nuggets twice, Suns. They could easily lose the middle 4. They just lost to the Wizards. We play Bulls, Spurs, Jazz, Warriors, Lakers. The last 2 are tough but at home. Not worried about Suns. Their schedule is Celtics, Knicks, Warriors, Thunder, Spurs, Kings. We need them to go 3-3 or worse. There’s no way they go 4-2.
3.5 games back with 4 games left = better luck next year Unfortunately this season is going to end in what could be considered the worst case scenario. Not in the play in, not in great lottery seeding. The only take away is the development of what will hopefully be a continued winning culture.
Unless we are sitting everyone, I don’t think we lose anymore games, so Sac just has to win one against Den, LAC or Pho to avoid us getting even worse lottery odds. Flagg is basically out, but the 7-8 pick is more valuable than the 9-10 pick
we have no chance at picks 5-7 we have a chance at: 1-4, 8-12 with 8th worst record (roughly 25% top 4) (roughly 65% 8 or 9) 1-4, 9-13 with 9th worst record (roughly 20% top 4) (roughly 75% 9 or 10)
you guys just eat sleep and breathe pessimism, it’s honestly impressive at this point. You got your lotto pick
Is it not reality? Did we not make the play-in AND not have a good chance at a good pick? Thought so. It's reality. Embrace the win streak fucking it all up. That's reality.
Their "best case scenario" last year (24), after tanking, got them the 7th pick. They were the tied for the 3rd worst team. the year before (23) their "best case scenario" got them the 3rd pick. They were the 5th worst team. the year before (22) that their "best case scenario" got them the 7th pick. They were the 5th worst team. The 2024 #1 pick was the 10th worst team. The worst team in the league got saddled with the 5th pick (and the year before, the worst team, the same team, got the 5th pick again). It's not a guarantee that crazy shit won't happen.
