Saw announcement Deni Avdija is one of the people selected to light a torch at Israeli Independence Day commemoration.

One of the honorees selected, a popular singer, chose not to participate.

    Not (now) editorializing, just reporting.

Deni has a vast Israeli fan base. He's a rock star when he goes home. Everywhere he plays he gives long interviews with Israeli journalists. He's going to get a lot of all-star votes outside of states, so I think he'll get that nod in the near future. He'll deserve it as well.

His father (Zufer) was born in Kosovo/Yugoslavia, mother Israel. Deni and his pop have dual citizen ship with Serbia. His dad was a vey good player and coach. Mom was an excellent player too.
