We're going to want as many picks as possible. So yeah. Any old dudes we can trade for first rounders we should absolutely do it.
They want offense. Give them both Ayton and Simons. For KCP and Isaac and both their picks. I think Ayton might fit their team. We would actually take in $12 million less than we send out.
keep in mind: while Orlando is under the tax this season, in July the Wagner and Suggs extensions kick in and Orlando will be over the first apron by 4M. Even if they waive Harris they will still be 3-4M over the tax line so what they do in the balance of this season will echo thru eternity (sorry....just saw that Gladiator scene on youtube) anyway, even if what you suggest was a legal trade (don't think it is), it would likely push Orlando over the 2nd apron next season, and they sure wouldn't go that route for players like Simons and Ayton. IIRC, the maximum differential in trades of this size is 7.5M. Maybe that's the past CBA and it's changed in the new one. I also question if Orlando would really want Ayton when they already have WCJ, Moritz Wagner, and Bitadze at C. But because of Orland's impending apron issues, in order to take on the salaries of Simons+Ayton, the Magic would need to unload Cole Anthony (or maybe Wagner/Bitadze) in the trade. So it would need to be something Like Iassac+KCP+Anthony/Wagner coming back...plus draft pick(s) I'd do it if for no other reason it would take away whatever temptation Cronin has to re-sign Simons and/or Ayton before a new owner is in place
After we trade Simons to Orlando, We’re not on the Darius Garland or Trae Young train should they become available?
OK, I was being lazy and using ESPN, which allowed my trade. Is there any way we can do it without getting so many players back?
