Clingan, Toumani, Deni — the keepers.
Any media, League, X, forums with trade proposals and chatter and conversations can leave them out.

    1. Getting a superstar who is youngish would cost too much and leave too little remaining post-trade.
    2. Any big swing trade for a Zion or other “damaged” star means an equally large risk and limiting draft capital going out.

I’m up for trades to get Deni’s or Toumani’s, but I’m about OUT on the mega-meal, all star trades.

    3. Portland bench players need to get better to have a DEEP bench — need a healthy, reliable, back-up center / need better versions of Walker, Murray, Rupert (great if it’s them but if not …) / need incoming players in “lost trades” of veteran EC’s to be good 6-9th men — the kind of back-ups you could see on OKC, Indiana, Boston — the gold standard of bench guys.

Yes, Portland needs a Batman and Robin. If I squint hard enough, could that be Deni and Toumani?

If we trade Camara to the Lakers for Dalton and a late 1st I’ll be done for a long time. He’s probably our best all around player. You need guys like him to win. Trading him would just reinforce the idea that we are basically a G League team for the big markets to take from when they need something.

Hey look - its a repeat of the 10 year old story of how a young Dame can be traded to the Lakers for scraps.

Rather just go get Andre Miller to coach him.

    Agreed.
Miller was one of my all-time favorite Blazers.

Not a big swing but a move that could payoff bigly:

    Noah Clowney

If other options fail - trading up/Zion - I’m calling Brooklyn about Clowney

I like this news because it would end Ant's return and going all in on Scoot.

That would be an addition I would totally be on board with. No interest in Westbrook.

Wouldn't really make sense to bring in CP3 if we were keeping Ant.

Paul played 82 games last year and was very effective. I'd totally be on board with bringing him here. We don't need a PG coach - we have Billups. However if Ant is gone we're going to need someone else to chip in at that position. I like the youth we have at other positions and having a stable vet lead that group could calm everyone down. Ayton and Grant aren't those types of vets. 40 year old CP3 could do that.

I really liked having Andre Miller here and hated trading him for Felton.

However Miller is 50 years old. CP3 just played 82 games and is a decade younger. Billups is even younger than Miller - so really no need for a guy like him. If we're going to target former players as an assistant we should get a wing or a big.

CP3 is going to be a head coach some day. He’s basically a player coach at this stage of his career.

If they’re still committed to Scoot this would be a great move

Man, I can't wait for post season. So many options. CP3 would be a great backup for what we need. I am down for Isaak and picks for Ant. Then see what we can get for Grant and Ayton.
Let's say it's Zion. Would Zion, Isaak and CP3 make you happy? I'd still rather have someone else than Zion, like Adebayo. Heat is looking to rebuild from what it sounds like and adding Bam, Isaak and CP3 would make us 48 minute nightmare on defense for the opposition.

I think Andre Miller was a better distributor than Billups. He couch teach a lot about how to run an offense.
