I have two trades, couple of extentions and then we play to win until the trade deadline…. trade 1: Grant, Scoot and a 2025 1st round pick (Memphis with our #16* we acquire from trading Ant to Orlando) Ja Morrant to the Blazers (the big swing) my next trade would involve Simons going to Orlando for pick #16….this pick goes to Memphis, with Orlando “package of players” all going to Chicago. Portland gets Ball from Chicago and our #11 pick this year, and Chicago agrees to accept a second round pick from us next year, releasing us from our previously traded protected first summary: Clingan and Ayton share time and Reath remains on the bench; Deni and a free agent vet and Jabari at PF Camara, Murray and free agent vet at SF Sharpe, DB Hooper, Rupert at 2- Guard JA and Ball at PG
I am just going to say it right now -- Blazers are NOT trading for Sabas , KAT or any other starting caliber big man unless the Nuggets decide to trade Jokic that might be the ONLY guy that they would abandon the DC as the future center for and guess what -- NEVER happening so stop it just stop it. I really wish fans would get a clue before spouting complete utter fucking nonsense that makes ZERO sense in the scheme of things. Also if I am wrong and I am 99% sure I am not but I leave one percent open cause we have two wildcards in Cronin led by a complete dipshit in Kolde.
My second trade as mentioned above Orando get Ant Unloads some contracts (to Chicago) They surrender pick #16 to Portland; Chicago sends Ball to Portland, picks up the #11th pick, and acquire players from Orlando Portland moves Ant to Orlando, pick to Chicago and we resolve the previous business with the Bulls and we acquire Ball to back up Ja!
If Orlando is giving up Cole Black #16 for Ant why don't we just keep that? Lonzo has much more injury risk than Zion.
In the right scenario I'd be for cashing out Scoot for a Ja level proven all-star. I don't think the Blazers are good enough to contend soon, as well as keep Ja on his best behaviors. Also no way the team adds a controversial player like that while selling the franchise.
A similar trade was proposed by Lowe and Hollinger on their podcast dude. This is a forum, folks can discuss what they think about it.
They sure worked hard to get him. I bet he's in the future plans unless he really screws up. Or maybe they're just hoping to rehab his image like we did with JR Rider before trading him in a package for Steve Smith?
They worked hard to get him two years ago... a lot changes in two years when it comes to the way front offices evaluate players, especially players they get to see every game and every practice and on road trips. That doesn't mean their evaluation of Ayton has necessarily changed or even that if it has that the higher ups are willing to admit it but it definitely could have changed a lot and I'm hoping it has because I was higher on him then than I am now. I don't hate the idea of Ayton starting, I just don't love it. I do hate the idea of Ant or Jerami starting for us next season. If that happens it'll be a bigger mess than just a little puke in my mouth... and I know it still could happen... it may even be the most likely thing but I hope not.
So George and #3 and we get to shed Grant and Ant? George has what, 3 more years (same as Jerami?), but at like 50+ million/year right? So you’re adding 20 mil more in bad contract for those 3 years. I don’t know if this #3 is worth that.
shoot that sabonis jersey swap into the sun, please. as my kids like to say, 'NO THANK YOU. NO THANK YOU.'
I would do it. George would probably barely play. Grant is going to become an issue if he's not starting anymore. The #3 pick could be a shot at a legit star player to add to this core.
