I think age-wise, he is fine as he will only be 22 next season. But he is only 220 lbs. I guess that is big enough to guard the Wemby's and Chets of the league on the perimeter, but he seems a little small to me as a backup center. By comparison, Camara has the same standing reach and is 10 lbs heavier. But yes, a three-man forward rotation would easily work. Like you mentioned, he would be a nice addition to the team, just not for #11.
You just trying to make me look bad or do you disagree with my comment? Mixed messages with that like vote on the comment that supports my question.
I liked your post. I was simply answering your question on whether he would start or not, and for whom.
Obviously not using a calculator, I see Portland taking on an additional $20 mil/season for three years in Grant/PG salary difference for $60 mil. Then subtract Ant's $26 mil from the $60 mil. I see Portland paying $34 mil for the third pick. Yes, that pick has three years of salary until PG expires, but I could live with that. Is there a player there at three that Schmitz would stake his reputation on? If Kneupel is dropping to 10 I try to get up from 11 to get him. Still do the trade for 3.
Before the lottery they said Flagg would increase the value of a franchise $500 million or so? No NBA team is dumping the 3rd pick to cut $35 million of payroll. Yes the 3rd is worth less than #1 but your still off by about 10x.
In this draft that doesn't make sense, because so many players have such a wide projected range. You're likely to be able to get the guy you would've taken at 8 at 11 and then you get to take somebody like Sorber or Clifford with #16. Trouble is we'd have too many players, so there better be another consolidation trade (maybe the Sabonis one) That wouldn't really be enough for Sabonis, though, particularly as they gave up Halliburton for him.
Brooklyn. If Kon is there at 8, he won't be there at 11. And they have additional late 1st rounders to even the deal. It would be worth it if the front office determine Kon (or someone else) is there guy.
Is it really worth it to move up for Kon? I could see trying to move up for a player that we see as a star.
