The salary cap gets really fucking complicated after this year. One thing that could save them is if they package Sharpe with Jerami for a starter upgrade. I don't see a target though.

Have you noticed how almost every trade Portland makes is kind of a head-scratcher? I hope you're right. I'm not holding my breath though. We've just gone into too many seasons under Joe (all three of them) with what seems to be a half built roster... it's seemed fucking aimless and this move by itself does nothing to disrupt that aimlessness.
Last year we made a trade a couple days before the draft - and basically had zero changes over the next 12 months. This roster today plus our pick might very well be what we have opening night.

If we were going to trade for KAT - Jrue makes way more sense as a teammate than Ant. I'm not sure that KAT would work here. If we don't have to give up our youth or picks Id try the experiment though.
