Pretty different then - was immediately reported the Blazers and Holiday were working on a trade. It's been reported yesterday the Blazers are keeping Holiday.

I expect they're giving him the keys to car this year. Jrue is as solid a person as there is in the league and will still get 30 MPG at age 35. He does all the little vet things that lead to wins that hopefully the youngins will be picking up on.

neither here nor there, but just remembered I saw Jrue at the Rose Garden in the Nike Hoops Summit game playing for USA back in 2008.

Pritchard. He’s actually a beast on defense

If we’re keeping him our defense is nasty. Looking at the championship game two teams built on defense. Assuming Jrue comes off the bench, our 2nd string is nasty defensively Jrue, Clingan, Thybulle and Grant (complain about him but defensively he’s solid). Combine that with Camara and Deni we are an elite defensive team. Obviously not ready to compete for a championship but should put us in contention as playoff team next year

Sharpe better get his defense in line because right now he’s the guy teams will be attacking.

Fair move. Not the best but not the worst. If Drue plays well next year, we win this trade.

Jrue makes more sense as a complementary piece with the starters and Scoot coming in to lead the bench offense.

But yeah I'm very excited to see our team defensively. Could be the best Blazers defence since Wes+Batum on the wings with LMA playing well inside.

Wouldn’t it be an expiring in 2028 combine that with our draft capital in 2028 and we could potentially make a big trade if we decided to go that direction

Reminder to everyone that our defense was actually decent last season and our offense was putrid. I guess we’re doubling down.

I'm guessing the Blazers want a different offensive scheme from Ant hero ball.

Also very common for youth like we have to improve offensively as they get closer to their prime.

It might not be that hard for us to go from bad to average offense. Maybe that's still slightly below average offense. However the problem is without a star how will we ever take the last step to a contending offense?

Maybe the Blazers just don't care about that right now, and really want to follow the Rockets blueprint. Have great team defense next season - acquire an aging superstar as the final piece in a couple of seasons.

Its blazer edge. No googling needed. Just a site many of us have read the past 10+ years.

Maybe this means we're drafting Egor and trading Scoot.

I think this signals that Grant is 100% gone.
Rumors of Ayton being on the block.
His value is being able to take money in from a team trying to get off a contract and getting assets for doing that
You can’t trade Ayton in that scenario now because you have jrue and grants contract on the books.
Unless they secretly plan to extend Ayton but then you have 3 bloated contracts for multiple years
    That would be bad

The problem is the grant contract is negative value now because Joe waited too long to trade him and was demanding 2frp. So do you attach assets to dump it now? I’d like to not do that.
