who hated Simons as a person?

I wanted him gone but that's because of what he was on the basketball court. Net negative at 25M/year and an undersized combo guard who couldn't defend a chair and had no 3&D or wing potential

Sure you can start Grant over Toumani or Deni. Grant has started every game he's played as a Blazer and is entitled to that role regardless of his performance. Deni played off the bench some of the season. Id guess it's most likely Sharpe is the one benched though.

The salaries are fine for this season. Now if they give Ayton a fat extension yes we'll have a big problem.

I don't follow Dave remotely enough to know, but I don't think he had us winning 36 by embracing D. I feel like his prognostications of how a team will play together have not been great historically.

    That's a fact, Jack.

Last night in perusing Twitter (I know, it can be a cesspool) about Simons, Celtics fans were laughing at Joe and pumping Steven's up as masterclass.

To be fair, I don't know that I trust BOS fans on about anything on anything, but that doesn't mean they're wrong here.

I don't disagree (even though Boston itself is amazing). But their list of transactions Stevens has pulled off were pretty impressive.

    thanks, I feel welcome already.
They're good, and with Mrs. BFW's family this week, so I have time to get on here with you deplorables without shirking either work or family. I thought it would be on draft stuff, not this... ;)

Most likely Camara with Grant and Deni at forward. So we can have year 4 of Sharpe as a backup.

If somehow one of those guys is out it'll be between Scoot and Sharpe to start. If Scoot starts, Jrue moves to SG and Sharpe still stays on the bench.

While great in theory to get that value for Ayton - Cronin has never done that type of trade. Blazers acquire vets in trades they think can play.

Boston fans are brutal. I think he will leave as an FA.

I mean, they got a player better offensively thats a decade younger that can be an expiring if they want. They save 40 million next year in tax too. And they got 2 2nds.

Blazers weren't duped of anything - they agreed to the Grant deal eyes wide open and knew Dame was not coming back with the #3 pick used on his replacement. Ramona Shelburne reported at the time both the Blazers and Grant were totally aware of the future Dame situation.

Grant did play well that first season of his comtract. Many national reporters such as Nate Duncan were surprised the Blazers didn't cash him out in a trade as he had value at that time.

Yall, this is a celebratory day! Simons is no longer on the team. We are better now!

What a great day! Having a player who offered nothing of substantion off the team is worth celebrating!

    Cheers!

Yeah, I agree. IMO it was all about honoring their verbal agreement with his agent.

would you start Grant over Shaedon Deni or toumani?
    I wouldn’t.

    Starting lineup of
    Jrue/scoot
    Toumani
    Deni
    Grant
    Ayton/clingan

That is a horrific offensive team
We may be amazing on D but if it’s not first to zero, it’s team with the highest score
